If someone discredit our Justice System --- specifically through "Contempt of Court" - and if punishment is not given to correct the view ----- then it has a termite effect of eroding the integrity of the Country and lead to losing of confidence to the whole Justice System as well as the Governance.

Investors confidence on the Country will also be eroded --- and may leave the Country - because the impression of the Justice system is bias or "unfair" maybe imprinted into people's mind.

If Society is not governed by "rule based system" ---- then jungle law will take over ---- and the Society will turn chaos.

Imagine if someone keep "roti prata and keep doing flip flop" - by not observing law --- then war may even break up.

Justice System is the "Heart" of a "Rule-based system".

And if "Contempt of Court" is not taken seriously ---- the "Rule-based system" will collapse.

After paying the fines they leave the court a happy man. Should have sentenced them to four weeks jail.

Helping the poor is commendable and yes we all started with helping the poor. I too did my fair share when I was young. But when the poor never overcome their poverty despite the help the you must question why the problem still exists.

Soh Lung Teo, since this article has developed into poverty and of helping the poor, I am reiminded of that popular story of an old man, a boy and thousand and thousand of stranded starfish story that we already familar with. As the story goes, we might not be able to change the entire situtation because the problem seems so overwhelming but we need to continue doing our small part for someone.

You have just committed contempt of court, as you implied our court willfully persecute whoever open their mouth anyhow, but spew the sweetest words: "Long live PAP for increasing GST & bring in unlimited India CECA FT to fulfil 10M pop target"

"Both men were found guilty of the offence in October last year. In April 2018, Wham published a Facebook post alleging that Malaysia's judges were more independent than Singapore's in cases with political implications."

Why would giving such personal view of comparison a contempt of court? Unless our judges deemed its very shameful to be compared with Msia judges who may or may not be better.

Its like someone opined that Mahathief is more independent & honest than Pinky, does that constitue to a defamation? How about saying FBI is more independent than our SPF in dealing with sex crimes in University? Trumps is more willing to defend his nation rights more than Sg President?
