"All these things will be discussed in a friendly manner. We are not going to confront them. But I believe that even Singapore understand(s) the need to revise the price of water," Dr Mahathir added.
--
Singapore stand is very clear, Malaysia no longer has the right to revise the price of the water.

Singapore has invested close to $1 billion in beefing up the water supply in Johor in order to keep the current price of raw water of 3 sen - and Mahathir has conveniently ignore this fact

If cannot agreed, settle it in the International Court.

"Water problem, the central provident fund, the borderline with our waters – what is Singapore waters? what is Malaysia waters? – the flight over our area, who is going to control it,”, these are not "unresolved" bilateral issues to be "discussed in a friendly manner."
These are unilateral old scores Mahathir had with Singapore and Singapore should settle these legal issues according to rules and laws. Why should Singapore understand(s) the need to revise the price of water when the agreement says there is no need to?
And what does he mean when he said “quite a lot of money that was lost, that was kept by Singapore”? Malaysia has problems with their banking system over there?

What rubbish is the vintage Old M talking : A day earlier, he said one reason why Putrajaya has managed to reduce national debt was due to the recovery of “quite a lot of money that was lost, that was kept by Singapore”. He did not give an exact figure.
As usual, this Old M is still so slippery, cunning and sneaky at 94.
Trust our PM will be firm, consistent and clear when discussing with him on all those unreasoable, unnecessary, unfounded and now considered as "unresolved" bilateral issues" in this upcoming leaders’ retreat.

"Unresolved issues" include Water prices, Malaysian-SPR's CPF, MONEY IN Singapore belonging to 1MDB RETURN (maybe also on "secret deals" and "foreign international figures")...etc are truly last resort "head-on confrontation"; after stirring "fake Negative Nationalistic Sentiments" and undiplomatic ranting of "red herring"???

Dr M has brought up a lot of "unresolved" issues that to some, never really existed b4 PH came to power in last May "revolution at the ballots".

He may want to keep "front n center" that Msian voters got tired n ashamed of having a blatantly corrupt to the core government n is looking for leaders that will bring honours, stability n prosperity to ONE Msia Msians. In this aspect, maintaining friendly ties with it's neighbours can definitely help.

Citizens of Msia n Sgp want both nations to get along. This is the wish of peace loving people.

Hopefully PM Lee will keep his cool as he enters tSee More

If your family is going for a short holiday, skip Malaysia to show your displeasure at the unfriendly, unreasonable and uncivilised behaviour of their PM's towards our country.

I think Singapore should STOP the retreat with the OLD MAN 93. After all, He is will not have his ass on the PM Chair for long. Retreat re-start from after Anwar take over. This Old Man 93 only Talk, Make Troubles to covered the Malaysian domestic & finance problem ! Nothing will be solved with his attitude, he prefer to prolong the troubles so that he could hang on his inabilities as Malaysia PM.

The STS hub, the maritime dispute, the airspace management dispute, the unilateral proposal for a 3rd bridge, etc are all manufactured for 2 things: to put pressure on SG to ease up on its position on water, and to remind SG of its junior 'adek' position vis-a-vis MY's superior 'abang' position.

The latter is for domestic show becoz msians are getting impatient with mahdey over the slow pace of reforms.

So dont expect anything good will come out of this retreat...

Singapore is a country that is ruled by laws and following all SOPs.I hope Spore govt will go by the book and not give in as the water agreement is very historical and to be remembered by many generations to come.

LHL knows that talking with slimy snake not going to achieve anything. Anything agreed or signed mean nothing because slimy snake always will have a reason why previous agreement can be broken. This opinion is based on past wayang by slimy snake like promises are not cast in stone, withdrawing from ICERD and Rome statute to road tolls. Remember he is like Hitler, signing a non-agression pack with Stalin Russia just to buy time to whack Western Europe so that he will not face with Two-Front war. Once France fell, he turned on Russia. Stupid Stalin fell into his trap.
