Spreading online falsehood to manipulate opinion or spike anyone or institutions need to be regulated.
Eg. someone send an email to the NUS victim and post in social media - that the offender come from influential family - and thus escape with light punishment (which in fact he come from a poor family - where his father is a driver and his mother is a housewife.)
This is in fact spreading online falsehood because :-
(1) it further inflame the sentiment of the victim and the public - against the offender to have escape punishment because he come from an influential family when clearly it is false.
(2) it further inflame the sentiment of the victim and the public - against the institutions for "favoring" the offender because he is coming from an influential family when clearly it is false.
The person who spread the falsehood clearly need to be dealt with for spreading lie and fanning public sentiment into an already emotional topic.

(1) A professional army - assume salary $5,000 a month - will have cost the Government S$78 billion a year for a 1.3 million standing army on salary only = Soldier salary almost cost total Government budget in 2018.
(2) Even for half a million troop (not counting standdown) - will cost S$30.3 billion per year in salary - about 40% of the whole Government budget for a professional army - can we sustain a regular army?

Essentailly why would citizen fight to protect the Government during war time where Government is not helping the citizen to keep the jobs during peacetime? U argument of such a huge army availability is only base on one-sided wishful thinking. How people would reciprocate and their attitude towards u during bad time is completely depending on how u treat them during good time.

As for whether Singaporeans want to fight for the Country during wartime ---- well when bombs start to land at their home and the love one dies, if invaders come in to kill them and their love ones, let see whether stand down reservists will be reactivated to bear arm and defend their homeland.
We have about half a million of standing regulars, NS man and NS personnel to defend our Countries.
We have another more than half a million stand-down reservists that can be activated to defend our homeland - if our active personnel are out to fight the war.
In total, we have about 1.3 million troops to activate to fight the war and protect our homeland.
Active personnel can fight - but if invaders invade us --- let see whether the stand down reservists will re-bear arm to defend the homeland?
Well standdown reservists like yourself and some others may choose not to bear arm --- but willing to get slaughter by the invaders --- it is your choice and some others choice.
As for many standdown reservists - we are willing to re-bear arm to protect ourselves and protect our loved ones.
Thus in total, we have 1.3 million trained troops to protect our homeland - whether active or standdown reservists.

(2) Those in this group are mostly standdown reservists - and can still re-arm themselves with M16 - where they are trained to handle.
Or spend a few days in learning SAR21 in weapon handling. Anyway - both use 5.56mm rounds.
Thus this 700,000 to 800,000 (where the SAF always keep the actual figure secret - due to National Security reason) - can be re-tappend and reactivated if a war breakout.
Note the doctrine of any Army engagement - the numbers count in an all out war - everyone has a part to play to defend their Country, their homeland and their loved ones.
If half a million of our active troops do the attack --- there must be sufficient numbers to defend our Homeland --- and the standdown reservists about 700,000 to 800,000 -- will have to count ourselves in --- else - we will get ready to be slaughtered if we give up and not re-bear arm.
If all this standdown reservists bear arm stay in their flats, houses and shoot at the invaders in fibua (fighting in built up area) or line up along the coastline to shoot at invaders --- I think the invaders will really think twice wanting to come ashore Singapore.
Or we can choose to be like Japanese Occupation time - stand helplessly along the street when the invaders come ashore, machine us, chop our heads, rape our loved ones, bayonet us. Before the POFMA law is passed, its "phrases" have shown it is bound to be manipulated by the PAP Government themself. Under the 'phrase', ministers will be the arbiters, "in the interest of the public", certain (albeit selected as they deemed fit, e,g RC, CCCCs, PA) and also the "threats " of charging one in court and a fine of a $1M, if one don't "accept" when the authorities or ministers wanted it to be.
