Going to the people's mandate or referendum will provide more muscle to President Obama in getting the gun control approved.

Ultimately, it is people, common man-in-the street get mowed down by high-powered assault weapons or guns.

The duty of a Government is to protect the lives of their people and their people have to support the Executive in formulating the laws and policies that will protect them.

Thus getting people's mandate and referendum - will be a collective decision on how they want their lives to be protected ---- gun-control or no gun-control.

This will strengthen President Obama's hand in formulating gun-control policies.

Safety and security of a citizen in a Country - is the lowest Hierarchy of Needs.

Law and legislations to protect the lives of citizens - is expected and is duty bound of a Government.
