Solving the unemployment problem among the Singaporean PMETs (as well as mature Singaporean PMETs) problem - should be a priority especially if the Government is predicting 70% of workforce will be PMETs in 2020.

Now i estimate the PMETs is make up of about 40% of the workforce - and Singapore is still facing a serious problem of not able to get all Singaporean PMETs to be employed. So come 2020 - the problem will even be serious if PMETs make up of 70% of the workforce.

(1) The younger Singaporeans will get very alarmed when they see their parents, uncle and auntie of 40 - 50 over years old unable to get a job. It will strike a fear on them that they will face the same scenarios when they hit 40 and 50.

(2) This will translate into social cost - whereby Singaporeans will not want to raise kids - as they will be unsure whether they can get a job to feed their families when they are 40 or 50 years old.

This problem have been highlighted by Mr LKY - as the most difficult problem to solve. And he predicted that many unemployed will be sitting behind computers to highlight this problem in social media. Mr LKY is right on dot.

We are seeing this problem manifesting now.

The WDA job portal provide a bird eye view of the job opportunities as well as the job applicants for the entire Economy (not all will be captured because some companies will still go through private portal or employ through their own means).

But WDA job portal is a useful tool for Economic planning, skillset planning, manpower planning, sector-specific planning etc to resolve job unemployment problem if use effectively.

The problem lies with organisations HR policies in employment - which is now grossly unfavourable against Singaporean PMETs and in particular the mature PMETs.
