Look like the Hunter is a vast improvement over the older APC (Armor Personnel Carrier).
(1) This Hunter can fight a tank - as it has 2 anti-tank missiles to take out a tank.
Previously, such armor carrier will have to run or call support from its tanks to engage enemy tank if contacted.
(2) Hunter is control "fly by wire" - means it can be drive via computer - and commander can take over the driving of the APC if driver is inactive.
(3) Respond to enemies is through laser warning system - and need not rely on soldier eyeball to detect enemies.
(4) With 360 degree camera - vehicle commander, driver and soldiers need not expose themselves to drive, navigate the APCs or lookout for enemies.
(5) The speed of 70 kmph is a vast improvement over older APC of 50 kmph.
(6) The C4 digital network platform will make Hunter and the whole force a coordinated and integrated fighting force.
(7) The ability to launch unmanned aerial drone and ground drone - will extend soldiers capabilities.
(8) This Hunter is a very superior APC of its kind.

(1) Some people say - too much electronics and digital - prone to high failure.
(a) But this is not true - because whether electronics or mechanical - they have their lifespan and mtbf (mean time between failure). As long as maintenance go according to schedule, mechanical parts and electronic parts that fail can be changed and prevent failure.

(b) If the myth that having more electronics and digital is prone to failure - then why tv, computer, fridge etc (that have electronics circuitry don't fail any other day)? Then why cars with mechanical parts can fail on the road - if not properly maintain?

(2) When the military platform such as Hunter is digital and network - its capabilities extend exponentially because :-
(a) it will have up to date information, situation awareness and precise location awareness of enemy location and strength - that allow deliverance of appropriate weapon system to eradicate the risk.

(b) Hunter can harness the weapon systems of other platforms such as Apache, other tanks, military aircraft to direct their missiles at the enemies - through the digital network system.

(c) Thus digitial and network platform of the Hunter - become a "a Force multiplier" - where the firepower is not restricted to Hunter's platform - but the whole force firepower.

(1) Some people say local make military products - no interest by other Countries and not battle tested - again this is a misconception and is not true.

(2) UK military purchase ST make bronco or warthog - that was used in the combat zone.
- UK military is full of praise of the warthog - that can climb mountain and go straight into the enemies camp and caught them by surprise.
- UK mothers wrote to ST and thanks us for saving their son's lives - as LEDs planted exploded on the warthog - it protect the lives of the soldiers and yet still can continue to fight.

(3) US Marine corps bought Terrex amphibious armor from ST.

--- So who say Singapore make military platform no one interested?

(4) The above testimonies speak volume of our local make military platform.

Will the Hunter be like Nick Fury's car in the Winter Soldier when the vehicle is all shotup & everything can't function except the aircon

This tank is an overkill for riots and underkill for real warfare...

The true litmus test is has any other country offered to buy it?

Has anyone seen other countries showing interest or using our self-developed weapons? For example our famous SSPH or the SAR-21?

When I looked at this Hunter, it reminded me of the incident where a Bionix crushed the driver of the landrover NSF Liu Kai on 3rd November 2018 when the Bionix reversed rapidly in a training exercise. More than 6 months have passed, many Singaporeans are still waiting for the investigation report as to how the incident happened. Yes the new Hunter has many safety features to mitigate risks, but ultimately if proper risk assessments and control measures are not adequately done by competent human beings, potential risk factors that the stakeholders failed to see or envisage, accidents beyond your imagination could still happen.

Hmm... the news did not mention about the scenario where the electronics gadgets fail to work properly. Can the people handling the vehicle still able to control and attack the enemies? One thing I know about electronics is that they do not like to be heated.

Never mentioned about electronics failure..Means this tank is sc#£w£& when electronics failed. Simple as that.

Depending too much on electronics is bad. Just look at what happened to Boeing 737 MAX 8!! NOSE KEEP POINTING DOWNWARDS DUE TO ERROR IN THE ELECTRONICS SYSTEM.
