(1) Operating drones where airplanes are landing and taking off - is highly irresponsible - as it may cause the airplanes to crash through collision.

(2) Wonder if this people operating the drones are doing it negligently or maliciously.

(3) This people who operate the drones is also compromising our air hub and affect our air economy - by causing unnecessary delay to the air operations and air flights. We have invested billions of dollars to make Changi Airport an air hub and attract tourists to come to Singapore, and this irresponsible people are out to destroy this.

(4) There is a need to nab this offenders and given a stern punishment to prevent like-minded people from doing this again.

"Offenders could face a fine not exceeding $20,000 or imprisonment for a term of up to 12 months, or both."

Sometimes I think the law of Singapore really needs to be reviewed. I cannot understand why those drone offenders are punished less.. a drone sucked into the airplane turbine could mean 300-400 passenger dying..

For a bomb hoax, the penalty is:
"Anyone found guilty of committing the offence faces a fine of up to $100,000 or up to five years' jail, or both."

Do you or your loved ones often take flight? If you do, wish you all the best that none of the flight is taken down by these trash bags or birds.

$20k for flight deĺay? How the system came to this conclusion? 12 mths jail for potential air disasters equivalent to terrorist attack, again how the system decide on the penalty vs the potential consequence?

Why didn't SAF or the police shoot it down?

Thought that our RSAF had the capabilities to disable and bring down the drones? All for show only?

Can be a young chap.
Imagine the excitement the drone can give to view videos of this mass beautiful installation.
A very innocent mistake?
When identified and dealt with...will be the opposite of the Great Excitement - to become the Great Depression.
...
If the drone operator is an adult...oh gosh, better disappear from the face of this earth 😄😄

It's a mistake to allow civilians to own drones. Same as the PMD nuisances. Now everyone thinks they can be National Geographic videographers with their nifty new gadgets. Ban drones together with PMDs. They should only be used in the hands of professionals and the disabled.

The same thing happened in UK before ,Singapore seems to be complacent enough not to have proactive plans for it but waiting for it to happen . If putting up ERP can be so responsive in managing traffics why not important air space that need immediate attention. Who should be answerable ?

It is also a reason to avoid flying into a certain airport. I visited Singapore for the third time in September 2018, but because of the way I was treated this time, I made a decision to fly via different hub in future. These drone incidents would also have put me off flying via Singapore.

These idiots need to be punished more severely and their drones confiscated, imagine the consequences of any accident!

This makes "Total Defence" a mockery! Never believe "innocent" drones moving around at such a sensitive location, so must ensure 3 things are implemented - quick interception/downing of drones, arrest of drones pilots, and punish them severely, particularly in this case, with jail, fine and caning, as offence adversely impacts our national security.

IMO, the punishment is too lenient. I hope the govt take steps to review it...... maybe increase the term of imprisonment plus higher amount of fine

since it is a critical concern on national security, operation of airlines, life and death of passengers, make it a national message for flying drones within restricted approximate airport and runway area is a severve punishable offend with minimum number stroke of cane and jail term Without trial.

flying drone can be shot down/intercept legally by Singapore authorised forces on whether the drone was flying Intentionally or Not Intentionally into approximate restricted airport and runway area.

government can spread the message through various soft or hard copy form of media including schools to ensure most Singaporean and foreigner are well inform.

Surprising, saf cannot shoot down the drone. What if it is a planned attack with ten drones?
