(1) Strange that this Global Hawk drone - does not have self-protection mechanism such as deploying flare (to evade heat-seeking missile) or chaffs (to evade radar-seeking missile) or fly at an altitude like U2 that cannot be reached by missiles.
(2) If the high price drone is so expensive and spice with high-tech gadgets and valuable in collecting information - it should at least have mechanism to protect itself from being detected and shot down.

US must develop better drones thus contribute to continual improvements of future civilian drone.... this is the purpose of conflicts and wars.... those who die in war like everyone else who die naturally will be either in heaven, hell or reborn.... but technological advancements must continue so that we humans can migrate to other galaxies in future time-travel machine... This is my view, correct me if i am wrong. :)

Just days ago, some people here were insisting the tanker attacks were an inside job since Iran cannot possibly have better technology than the US.
Are these same people now going to claim that Iran, which has abilities to shoot down military drones using missles, do not possess a limpet mine, which is actually fairly old tech weaponry which was used since WW2?
Now, I do not completely buy the US claims that the drone was in international airspace in this case, but is this still an inside job now? :D

U.S. would have recovered their downed drone if it was indeed shot down in international waters. However, Iran has recovered parts of the damaged drone in its territorial waters. This itself has already disproved US claims.
By the way, there was an instance during Obama's time where a US spy drone was shot and damaged over Iran airspace but managed to land in Iran. Instead of an apology, Obama demanded the return of the spy drone.

The White House is filled with talking heads! And they do not say much that sounds even vaguely intelligent!
