(1) Look like both US and China want to seal the trade deal - and prevent a trade war from escalating.

(3) The key to sealing the trade deal - is hinge on the ability of both sides to "give and take" and not cross the "red line" of either parties.
(4) Thus reasonableness and emphaty will need play an important part throughout the whole process of negotiation.
