(1) Huawei is not just about google, facebook, whatsapp, youtube etc.
(2) Huawei also build 5G - a wireless network in speed more than 20 times that of 4G (ie. 10-50Gbps to 1 Tbps vs 20Mbps - 300Mbps).
(3) This allow many applications - industrial automation, smart city, augmented reality, massive IoT, autonomous cars, smart home, 3D videos, eHealth etc high-bandwidth apps to run on the 5G network - that can't be run on 4G network.
(4) Network band can be carved out by network slicing - where by smartphone network on 1 network slice, autonomous cars on 2nd network slice and massive IoT on 3rd network slice --- which is not possible on 4G network.
(5) Huawei can virtually reproduce all the chips that US ban - via their HiSilicon.
(6) The only problem is Huawei smartphone can't run the google playstore and pre-install mobile apps like youtube, facebook, whatsapp etc.
(7) For China domestic market - unable to run this apps is not a problem - as China run wechat, weibo, alibaba, tencent, baidu etc.
(8) But for smartphone business, it will be a problem outside China - but not Huawei 5G network which has high potential.

GREAT CHINA sharing her greatest contributions with mankind. Every countries that uses Huawei technology will have the best technologies for knowledge applications and advancement in their own countries. Weakness of this is USA laggards will conduct spying to steal 5G technology from China partners.

i understand the reason why many are supporting China and their every move, and it all started after the trade tariffs imposed by U.S. as an asian many felt being disregarded and condemned at, and rightfully so.
president trump is a known risk taker, and what he did is a double edged sword move. he have to do what he did for the sake of his country, and protect america's interest and position as no 1 in the word economical stage. being a leader he have no qualms about straining the relationship with China - asia powerhouse, halting their progress as much as possible by all means.
as an asian this affect us, because deep down most of us are of chinese descent. there were many times we stayed quiet particularly during china claims of their rights of the south china sea. there were also many instances where china tried to monopolize asian markets in their bid to develop fast and be on par with america. president xi was at the heart of china's development and the decision he made throughout his terms were also all for the best interest of china.
at the end of day it is just 2 countries and their leaders strategizing ways to take hold of the world's market. and our role is to decide whose side we are on, and from the way things unfold, china already have majority of the public fighting alongside with them.
