Think twice about going on minor pilgrimage given Mers risk: Yaacob

Yes last year 2013 is very lucky, very blessed - even though Mers is lurking around - but no infection during the Haj.

But this year 2014, Mers has spin out of control - as even though the source is said to be from camels - the Mers infection still gone rampant even those with no contact with camels. The infection rate is going up rapidly and the death rate of 30% is pretty high.

Since this year has high risk, why not postpone to another years - until Mers infection are control and best, eradicated. Because it will not only affect those who visit, but also put your family and your relatives at risk not to mention the real risk of affecting the community if one infection is brought in and lay dormant waiting to propagate.

This is a real risk not to be overlook. The last time when SARs strike - it is frightening experience and Economy is badly affected.
