Mers should be considered an emergency case and international response maybe required – though it is not as contagious as Sars.

The reasons being the coming Haj whereby pilgrims from all over the place will converge – and mass infections will happen if emergency measures are not undertaken.

Also Mers has a higher death rate once infected.
