Malaysia Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said on Monday (Mar 25) that the country will recover from its administrative and financial problems left behind by the previous government in three years time.
--
Mahathir doing his hallmark "flip-flop" again - saying that if he is around for 3 years - he will turn Malaysia around.

But thought he promise to handover the role of PM to Anwar in 2 years time?

Is Mahathir going to eat his words and take back his promise to the political coalition?

This is the problem of dealing with someone who will never keep his promise.
Mahathir will flip-flop and dishonour sign agreement.

What make everyone think that he will keep his promise - that is orally make - even though it is broadcast to the whole World to know?

He can even accuse someone of sodomy, jail him - and later apologise for the mistake - that the sodomy is not true.
What else he can't do?

Wonder what economic plan does Mahathir has to recover from the financial and economic problem faced by Malaysia :-

(1) He want to pick fight with EU (28 member Countries) - and want to boycott EU in trade.

(2) He pick fight with China - claiming China is trying to indebted them with Belt and Road projects.

(3) He pick fight with Singapore - on water dispute, port limit, airspace, delay RTS rail, delay HSR - not attending Singapore-Malaysia Leadership retreat - and Singapore is not investing in Iskandar region, Singapore divesting food sources into other Countries and ramping up R&D into hi
gh-value added food production.

(4) He refuse to sign CPTPP - while the majority of the CPTPP members have already ratified and start trading among themselves.

(5) Malaysia has budget for deficit for the past decade - finance mainly by debts - draining its financial coffer.

(6) Mahathir say he want to sell many of its Sovereign Fund assets.

Wonder what Economic Plan does Mahathir has --- to help Malaysia recover from its economic and financial problem?

No policy to boost investment, to boost trade, to promote friendship with main trading partners for more trade, more investment, most business, more travel --- but good in picking fights with all his major trading and business partners.

He probably believe His "flip flop roti prata" magic words can do the trick?

Say only - magic will appear. No need to honour it one.

Malaysia has 2 types of reserves :-
(1) Sovereign Fund reserves - operated by Sovereign wealth fund Khazanah Nasional Bhd (RM157.2 billion)
(2) Financial reserves - operated by their Central bank (USD$102 billion) (RM413.1 billion)
Total = (RM570.3 billion)

(1) & (2) won't last for long - as their current debt is RM$1 trillion (which far exceed their reserves) = - RM429.7 billion in deficit.

Since there are no significant investment, no increase in trade, no significant increase in tourism visit ----- how Mahathir is going to cover its financial deficit?

Is Mahathir trying to bluff his Malaysian voters again?

KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia's ruling Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition has denied that a statement was issued on Monday (March 25) to voice its support for the leadership of Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.

Published in 25 Mar 2019

It came after Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) lawmaker Nurul Izzah Anwar told The Straits Times that it was difficult working with Dr Mahathir again due to the strained personal ties stemming from her father Anwar Ibrahim's imprisonment in 1998 after he was sacked as deputy prime minister by Dr Mahathir.

Ms Izzah's frank remarks about the new government's slow pace in making reforms drew support from the public but a backlash from within the coalition.

Frank Kam - Ha ha ha.

Their 2 reserves are published account. I will be surprised if they have no clue about the figures. How can they governed if they don't even know their account balance?

Making their financial status known - is not for them - but for the Malaysian voters.

Malaysian voters must know the real facts to decide for themselves whether whatever Mahathir say is true or not.

Obviously, with their current financial status as well as without a proper Economic Plan --- it call into question whether Mahathir can recover by 3 years - with no new trade, no new investment, no new tourism visit etc. --- and every year budget deficit through borrowings and debt to finance their government spendings and expenditure.

But look like Malaysian voters are not so stupid - based on the news reports about the growing unhappiness of public about Mahathir as PM.

The more facts are presented --- the more Malaysian voters are informed - and they can compare and decide for themselves what Mahathir tell them, and what is the actual fact at the ground tally or not.

Then Malaysian voters - can decide for themselves whether Mahathir is trustworthy or not - or will they continue to support him as PM.

This strategy seems to be working - because justice cannot be hidden --- facts will reveal the "Truth and nothing but the Truth".

Ricky Lim...Bank Negara confirmed that as at end of 2017 national debts was RM686 billions and parliament was notified during 2019 budget session. Now ND stood at more than RM800 billions.Where the hell he got ND figure at more than RM1 trillion...he has been quoting this figure from day one he is in power and keeping harping on it. Dumb founded for his lack of understanding of ND or simply stubborn to admit the truth.

Note that the PM Dr.M did not mention when he will pass the PM role to Anwar.
Tricky as before. He wants to drag on 3 years?

So far Anwar has been deliberately keeping a low profile while waiting to take over. It may be the right strategy at the beginning but if it would to continue in this manner for too long, then I think he could lose his grip on the rein in the running of the govt affairs in the long run. He should be more vocal and make his presence felt at times and making suggestions as to how the country can overcome the debts situation. I think is time for him to be more proactive.

This is typical of the vintage Old M to give this kind of rhetorical messages. Is he hinting that he needs to be the PM for another 3 more years ?
Do M'sians still have confident that he still can be in "working condition" at 96 or 97 years old after being decieved by him or the 1st year in his 2nd term as PM ?
Words like "PH Have many plans...", "... be patient...", "people including government servants have to tighten our belts...", God willing.." , etc clearly show that he is again trying to deceive his own people without providing any specific plans.
Can M'sains still trust him now at his "borrowed vintage time" and now requested to extend further or Enough it's Enough ?

Vision 2020 was developed under Mahathir rule to be a long-term goal for Malaysia to become a “fully developed country” by year 2020. Generally, the vision is referred as twenty-twenty, which according to Mahathir is connected to having a perfect vision of 20/20. When asked about Vision 2020, Mahathir has jokingly said, “I will not be around to be blamed should we fail to meet the goals.”
What goes around, come around. What a spot on prediction. Seems like Malaysia has found itself in dire straits with the ruling BN being defeated and the then PM of Malaysia becoming the PM leading the opposition into power. The then PM not only didn't have 20/20 vision, he was suffering from degenerative myopia.
