It shows alot about the people who voted Trump as well.. the mentality and inclination and so forth... And most importantly from this lesson... It proves and reaffirmed that America can never be the sole super power ever again in the eyes of the world. Its not a reliable super power and pillar of the world it once thought you be.
In fact non of the emerging super power can be trusted. Just that the world had to learn how to coexist eventually even there might be conflicts every now and then.
It's a more unpredictable dangerous world and has to be thread carefully.

An international order encompass :-
(1) Economy - trade, investment, business, travel, global supply chain, ecommerce, financial stability etc - that ensure prosperity among Global members.
(2) Disruptive technology - such as AI that threaten traditional business and jobs --- which in turn transform into political, economic and social disorder.
(3) Security - such as prevention of terrorism, regional conflicts, war between Countries or among blocs - to ensure humanity will not succumb to degenerating into wars or armed battles to settle differences or degenerating into World War - like in WW1 and WW2 that exterminate human mankind.
(4) Global climate - such as persistent drought, hurricane, flooding, tsuanmi, etc that are occuring more often - that threaten the environment we live in.
(5) Water and Food security - such as unpredictable climate that threaten crops cultivation and food stock, water scarcity due to drying up of drinkable water etc.
(6) Cosmic threat - such as sun radiation, meteorite collision, black hole etc that will wipe out the Earth.
(7) Healthcare - such as epidemic etc that spread like wildfire and threaten the lives of humanity.
All the above require Global Leadership and cooperation of International Order to work with one another to ensure the above challenges and threat will not lead to extinction of humanity.
But Trump apparently does not have such wisdom and political sophistication to understand the above to provide the right kind of leadership and does not have the flair to foster international cooperation - to benefit its own Country and the Global World.
Trump like Mahathir --- only know how to play to the gallery - politicking, divisiveness rather than governance and forging cooperation of Global members --- causing World disorder and disharmony.

Trump treat governance - like running a business - I win you lose for eg. looking at the trade number ---- failing to realise that trade for US is only US$5 trillion - whereby the cost effectiveness of sourcing from cheap supplier will help to fuel its US$14 trillion internal economy.
By forcibly disrupting the Global Supply Chain - it is no longer market efficient - and it greatly impact the cost of production for its internal economy and disrupt the Global Supply Chain.

(2) They also found that annual consumer and producer losses from higher costs of imports totaled US$68.8 billion.

There are now early signs of global recession. More reasons for all of us to tighten our belt especially in opened economy like Singapore as every dollar spent may not be able to earn back. Citizens here not only competing the same jobs against people in foreign countries but only huge number of FT locally. Any bilateral trade agreement between US and China is unlikely to benefit third country directly. This is very bad for Singapore whose external economy is far larger than internal.
