KLUANG -A water treatment plant in the Malaysian state of Johor has been temporarily closed since last Saturday (March 23) due to ammonia pollution at the Sungai Benut river, cutting water supply to about 75,000 consumers.

Simpang Renggam Member of Parliament and Education Minister Maszlee Malik said on Monday (March 25) the supply cut was due to the closure of the water treatment plant in Simpang Renggam in Kluang.

Wonder how does Mahathir and Osman Saipan can fulfill the wish of "self sufficiency" by not importing treated water from Singapore and want to build more water treatment plant --- when the source of water supply are either polluted or experience drought with no rainfall?

Cloud seeding now, too late already. Should have learned from Singapore and not laughed at us, especially Mahatir on our New water. Blame it on Mahatir time because at that time they did not invest in water security and therefore successive governments did no see the need as well.

Keep harping senselessly about the "3 sens water issue" with S'pore without any appreciation of our "goodwill gestures" and now even the sky also reluctant to provide the vintage Old M free water" in his 2nd term as PM ?
Perhaps "the sky" is telling the Old M that "there is no more free water now from the sky, you need to pay S'pore MR2.40" ?
