Dr Balakrishnan stressed that the dispute will not affect the viability of Singapore’s upcoming Tuas Terminal.
“Development works are proceeding as planned, and there will be no impact to access for ships calling at the terminal in the future.
--

The Tuas terminal is facing our southern coastline - away from the disputed northern coastline - and the cargo ships are plying along our southern coastline - which are meant for our port and shipping activities.

Thus there are no impact to our port activities in our new Tuas terminal - as ships after our port call at our Tuas terminal - will move out to Sector 7 towards Sector 8 if going to South China Sea or from Sector 7 to Sector 6 towards Indian Ocean.

Whatever is happening in the disputed area - are in fact affecting Tanjung Pelepas port - and impact Johor shipping and port activities.

The more the old hat create problem - the worst it will become affecting Johor port of call.

The sovereign wealth fund, who is MAS’s single shareholder, has spent RM6 billion (US$1.5 billion) over the last three years trying to put the airline in the black again, to no avail. Many are saying that it’s time to suck it up, and pull the plug.

Firefly, the subsidiary of MAS.

If Seletar airport don't operate :-
(1) Malaysia Firefly will lose RM$20 million per month.

--
Thus if Singapore cannot get a good deal in the airspace, Singapore should continue to drag on --- until we get a good deal.

The biggest losers are the Malaysian airlines.

Malaysia economy and finance under Mahathir --- can close shop already.
Everything is falling apart.

The sovereign wealth fund even want to sell of Johor Legoland.

--
Wonder why this Mahathir still want to pick fight with Singapore and China --- when Malaysia economy and finance are plunging and start going haywire.

Air, sea & land route all in an evil plot to disrupt Singapore progress that is behind time.

Singapore should then focus on our own island development which is very much neglected. We r far behind China now. Our infrastructure is lacking & old. We r still in the progress of recruiting 1.5 millions citizens to reach 6.9 millions.

The old hat evil plot of air, sea and land - all back-fire on him.

(1) Air - the longer the
airspace dispute drag --- the more Malaysian airlines (eg. Firefly) will make losses.

(2) Sea - the longer the port limit is not resolved - the more ships will not call at Johor Tanjung Pelepas port of call.

(3) Land - the longer the RTS rail is delay - the greater the Johoreans who need to come to Singapore will suffer - as they are stuck in the Causeway.

The lesser Singaporeans will travel to Johor.

how do the malay muslim chauvinistic leaders explain why malaysia is still a backwater despite having oil, timber, palm oil, .. an endless llist of resources and advantages.

Just as the maritime dispute at Tuas, the first consideration should be a country's sovereignty - in this case Malaysia's - not Singapore's aviation interests.

Malaysia has intruded into Singapore Territorial Water - this cannot be disputed.

Just look at the map - and you can see Malaysia vessels come right into our half of the territory against UNCLOS law.

(1) Maritime Port Limit -
(a) According to UNCLOS, if there is territorial disputes as to the water boundary - 12 nautical miles will be the default territorial boundaries.
But Singapore and Johore straits are less than 12 nautical miles - thus this clause will not apply to us.

(b) According to UNCLOS, if there is territorial disputes as to the water boundary are less than 12 nautical miles - by default the water boundaries will be divided into half and the middle of each half will be the territorial boundaries to each Countries.

Singapore will benefit from this clause.
Malaysia newly declared port limit and its naval intrusion - clearly breach this UNCLOS clause - as it enter more than half of the divided territorial water and come very near into our coast.

(1) Our port limit Sovereignty is well within UNCLOS law.

(b) According to UNCLOS, if there is territorial disputes as to the water boundary are less than 12 nautical miles - by default the water boundaries will be divided into half and the middle of each half will be the territorial boundaries to each Countries.

Malaysia clearly infringe our Water Territorial Sovereignty.

(2) Before Mahathir become Prime Minister - no Malaysian leaders intrude our port limit against UNCLOS law.

This intrusion is a blatant provocation to our Sovereignty.

Singapore has the right of the law.

As for the airspace - it is a signed international regional agreement sanction by ICAO - to ensure safety and operational efficiency.

And it is given to Singapore FIR to manage the airspace.

This has nothing to do with sovereignty and Singapore don't dispute the sovereignty of the respective airspace.

Such arrangement is practice worldwide - where many Countries has overlapping airspace management sanction by ICAO - to ensure safety and operational efficiency.

Definitely "technical and operational" considerations must be the utmost prerequisite which ICAO had full confidence with S'pore with regards to this regional aisrspace.
ICAO may have to request air passengers to take "air-borne" courses and bring along their own parachutes if our 2 neighbours take over the Air Traffice Control over this airspace ?

So you think the Malaysians are honourable - with blatant violations of our Sovereignty?

You Malaysian ?

A contract (signed agreement) is legally binding - and must be honor at all time.
Your teacher didn't teach you - under "Law of Contract"?
Any party who fail to honor a signed contract - is consider a breach of the contract - is required to compensate the other party.

You don't know what is right and what is morally wrong isn't it?
Now who is dishonorable?
Mahathir or our Leaders? 是非不分,黑白不分。无法无天。

Actually , no need to show so much good will. For the Railway, if Malaysia wants to cancel. Just pay full compensation. No need to dilly dally..., since Malaysia is so unreasonable on the water issues, just go to World Court and get it settled.Or ask them to build their own facilities to purify their own water ( since they threatened to stop buying water from Singapore , and, Singapore really does not want to sell them clean water anyways) . LOL. The investment cost of building a water processing facilty is Extremely High.
There is no need to show them " good will " when they have always ungratefully bitten the hand that feeds them. Be patient as time is on Singapore's side, even before these issues are over, Najib and UMNO will probably be back in power in the next GE , given the incompetency that Madhater and PH have shown in domestic issues and the dissatifaction the rakyat is manifesting. Or Madhater will have been long dead and buried and Anwar will thankfully take over as the sane leader of PH. No need to show good will, time , reason and legal justification are all on Singapore's side. Espcially " good will" to dogs that bite the hands that feeds it.
