(1) Trump over-estimate its tariff prowess of making China surrender to Trump's tariff trade war.
(2) US import from China is only about US$500 billion - and this so much 25% of import tariff that US can levy on China - which will also hurt US consumers badly.
(3) China GDP - trade with the rest of the World plus internal consumption is about US$13 trillion.
(4) Tariff levy by Trump on China's export to US of US$500 billion versus China's GDP of US$13 trillion - is only about 3.8% of China's Total GDP.
(5) Does Trump seriously think that China will bent over - by Trump's tariff threat?
(6) True that China's exporters to US will be hurt and job loss will be imperative for these Chinese exporters.
(7) But the same for US exporters and importers of China's goods and services - who will be equally hurt.
(8) US consumers will also pay a much higher price for China's goods and services.
(9) To conclude, Trump's tariff war with China, and the rest of the World --- is not doing anything good to both US and the World.
(10) In fact, Trump has severely dislocate the Global supply chain and has hurt not only China and those Countries that Trump has trade war with --- but also the rest of the World that are involved in World Trade.

(1) Trump has also through this 4 years tenure - make US more and more isolated with the rest of the World.
(2) Whether in political alliance, economic alliance, global climate alliance etc.
(3) Conversely China's BRI, trade and investment is bringing more Countries closer to China.
(4) In the long run, Trump is making US fade in global economic influence and geopolitical influence.

(1) Trump has under-estimated the vibrant growth that are fueling in Asia Pacific.
(2) China is producing more than 1 million middle income every year.
(3) ASEAN is producing similar number if not more middle income earner.
(4) The growth in both China, ASEAN and the rest of Asia Pacific will exceed the US GDP of US$19 trillion many times over (specifically US$32 trillion in nominal term or US$66 trillion in PPP).
(5) Trump by forcing bilateral trade through "spoke and hub" approach - will force Asia Pacific to rely more on multi-lateral trade such as RCEP, CPTPP and BRI infra development --- and US will "sit out" in the mammoth trade, investment and economic growth of Asia Pacific.

(1) China has US$3 trillion in foreign reserves.
(2) US has only US$126 billion in foreign reserves with US$23 trillion in public debt.
(3) Does Trump really think that China will easily give in to US a meagre 25% tariff of US$500 billion which work out to US$125 billion --- that are mostly paid by US businesses and US consumers plus China businesses?

(1) China can easily use their foreign reserves of US$3 trillion to help the Chinese businesses and jobs affected by the US$500 billion export affected by the 25% tariff.
(2) US with US$23 trillion public debt (with US$1 trillion owe to China) and only US$126 billion reserve - how does Trump help those US businesses, US jobs and US consumers affected by the US-China trade war?
(3) Trump is short-sighted to only look at the trade deficit of US$500 billion import vs China import of US$100 billion.
(4) Trump fail to see the strong financial foundation of China vs US weak financial foundation --- in this US-China trade war - and over-estimate its "prowess".

Unker Will
Those Americans who voted for this joker will not admit that they have made the greatest mistake in America.

Brexit and Trump highlights the weakness of liberal democracy. Just like Brutus and Mark Anthony was easily able to manupulate the fickle Roman citizens after the murder of Julius Ceasar. This is the same Western universal value that they want to export to the whole world.
Petjay Catarbas
He's diverting voters attentions from his domestic investigations by creating Crisis such as Trade wars, NK, Iran, Venezuela. Crisis can help boost voters support in calling for national unity. He just want a re-election. He doesn't give a shxx on the consequences on economic sanctions, trade wars and military interventions. .
Raymond Chan
Trump actually has achieved nothing. He has not build the border wall with Mexico. Iran has not changed, neither has N Korea. Venazuela has not changed regime. The islands are still there in South China Seas. War in Yemen is continuing. Threats and bullying will not change things.
