(1) Indeed Singapore can play a pivotal role - when US and China tension go up.

(2) Shangrila-Security Forum is a right forum to bring both China and US together to arbitrate and mediate differences - so that military tension and confrontation between both China and US will not escalate.

(3) Locking horns militarily between both US and China military forces - is a MAD proposition - because it means Mutual Assured Destruction - when both sides have nuclear, carrier-killer, hypersonic missiles, satellite killers, etc.

(4) Taking note that the 1930 Deep Depression follow by World War 2 scenari
o - is unfolding in 2018, 2019 - where US tariff trade war trigger a Global Depression that led to World War 2 ---- 2018, 2019 and beyond must not succumb to similar scenario ---- that will mean "end of the world" -- if it ever disintegrate into World War 3.

(5) Most important of all, we are given the assurances by both China and USA that Singapore do not need to take sides - as we have economy, security and supply lines that criss-cross one another.

(6) This will put Singapore into a very good position - to stay neutral - and play a pivotal mediator and arbitrator role - to ensure both sides have a neutral forum and place to sort out their differences without resorting to force.

Although Singapore has no claim to South China Seas and always to maintain a neutral standing and views on this issue but I think the pressure is building up and there will come a time our neutral position would be under threat. Let's pray that when the day comes, our 4G Leaders will know what is best for Singapore.

The problem is not in South China Sea but the strait of Taiwan which American navy purposely sailed thru to stir up troubles with China. It is just like the Malaysian vessels sailing thru our Tuas port to tickle our ass, can you tolerate this and not teach them a bitter lesson? Of course the difference is that the Malaysian vessels are just small boats whereas the United States navy vessels are huge warships which can only be destroyed by nuclear missiles. So nuclear weapons will be used if war break out and Taiwan will be turned into ashes.

If you think we were neutral, I will say that you are wrong. What is more important than taking sides or not taking sides is to make sure the situation doesn't blow up.

Can't say that for this government during the Obama years!
