Void deck is already at the last mile to lift, letterbox and home.

This is also where there are many pillars that block the view of PMD users.

If PMDs are allowed to be ride freely in the void deck - accidents will be unavoidable.

Suggestion is that - in void deck or at crowded places, PMD users should dismount and push their PMDs rather than riding on it.

Even at 10kmph in void deck and at crowded place - PMD accident can cause injuries.

If every Town Council has their own rules, how will the PMD user know which void decks can be used and which can't? LPM's answer is a classic case of shirking responsibility.

Bad government is still better than no government, to each his own is as bad as no government. What are the mps and ministers for if there is no government.

Town Council has no power to enforce suka suka rules and it simply has no manpower to do it. This is really LPPL, empty talks by LPM.

Mr Lam, one rule for the whole of Singapore don’t enforce different rules around the country. If that’s the case where is our nation one Singapore going to lead is.

Singapore is made up of different small towns which are close together. Not made up of states consisting of different towns. Having different rules and regulations for such towns will easily confuse PMD users as well as non PMD users who can be residents of the town or from other towns (that make up a good mix). It's simply not practical. It's like opening up a can of worms. Pls la, can't you, in your capacity give one rule that can apply to all towns?

"Town councils can set and enforce their own rules on use of personal mobility devices (PMDs) at void decks, said Dr Lam Pin Min, Senior Minister of State for Transport"
I cannot believe this statement is coming out from the mouth of a Minister. This tells us that who ever made this statement has no common sense and does not know its repercussions This rule if it were to be carried out would cause more confusion and more PMD accidents in Singapore.

Let's be totally honest here! Town Councils just do not have the numbers for enforcement. The TCs are deprived of pro-active estate enforcement officers, relying most times on the foreign Bangladeshi supervisor of the cleaning contractor. Really, TCs are responsible for the expanse common areas, but, sadly, they are doing very little, if at all, enforcement of any kind. Just look around - free illegal parking of motorcycles on common areas, including at void decks, speeding escooters in common area, including along common corridor at the shops level of hdb blocks, illegal use of common area, littering at common area..etc. The hard truth is TCs are not employing, and when they do they do not employ the fit, daring, and active enforcement officials, for reasons best known to them. Additional regulations will just be an exercise in futility, as breaches will continue undeterred.
