Wonder should cabling and piping be compartmentalised and run along roads or drain --- that don't require contractors to dig when laying cables and pipes ---- but simply open up the various compartment.

This will remove the need to do digging each time there is a need to lay new cables or new pipes.

This will also reduce or eliminate service disruption.

In the long term, this will reduce the construction cost as this will do away with digging and re-surfacing the road.

Interval locked service duct, service outlet or service box should be made available along the service duct for cables or pipelines.

This will ensure that all underground assets - are properly structured, design, organised, streamline and accessible by proper access (and not through disruptive access like digging and re-surfacing which will damage the roads and accidental cutting of cables or pipes).
