The government of Malaysia has paid the Singapore Government "abortive costs" incurred for the postponement of the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail (HSR), the Ministry of Transport said on Thursday (Jan 31).
This comes after a formal agreement between the two countries to postpone the construction of the HSR until end-May 2020. Malaysia has to pay Singapore S$15 million for costs incurred to suspend the project.

Malaysia is short of cash, have sympathy for our neighbour. Anyway the HSR is not beneficial to Singapore. With HSR our malls would be empty on weekends, more Malaysian will seek to work in Singapore depriving our senior citizens of meaningful work.
