The Malaysian Navy had a bouy laying vessel named 'KD DUYONG' and was used to plant explosivives to blast away coral reefs that posed as a hashzrds to shipping pusing the Malacca Straits. Although Singapore was out of Malaysia, The Malaysian Naval Base was still based in Woodlands at the time.

The Polaris could be a replacement of the formal vessel. Singapore & malaysia are such close neighbours and should 'talk over' the misunderstandings and remains as 'BLOOD BROTHERS'.

I was really surprise taht a Malay Malaysian politician called for on Malaysai to have a war with Singpore. He is really a Man with brain like USA President Donald Trump strating a 'Trade War" with China without long term benefits to both countries. Actually this Malay Politician is worst than Donald Trump; he should know that there are many Malaysians with blood relatives, friends on both sides. Calling for war is like asking all Malaysians & Singaporeans to "COMMIT SUICIDES. He is much more STUPID than "BABI UTAN TENGAL".

Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad was in London on Monday, Oct. 1 2018 to deliver a talk at Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs.

His talk, “The Future of Democracy in Asia”, discussed his experience during Malaysia’s recent watershed General Elections, as well as the democratic processes in Malaysia.

No war with Singapore

According to Bernama, Malaysia’s state-run news agency, Mahathir said that although negotiations with Singapore on claims over “outstanding issues” (Mahathir used the word “various” instead of “outstanding”, as written by Bernama) were not as successful, Malaysia had no intention to go to war.

Mahathir said that Singapore “may be small”, but it was more powerful than Malaysia. He said that he did not see war as “a means to settle conflicts”.

He said that he’d rather sit down to negotiate, even though there may be no result, than go to war.

This Dr M know that Singapore though small - is militarily very powerful - being the 2nd most militarised Nation in the World (Compiled by BICC, the Global Militarization Index (gmi) )

In fact, airforce, navy, army, and armour - Singapore overwhelm Malaysia forces multiple times.

So wonder which Malaysian politician say he want war with Singapore --- he probably has no knowledge in military.

If this politician mention - "pain in thousand cuts" ---- it will probably be Malaysia that suffer the cut and not Singapore --- because Singapore firepower will be sufficient to ensure "there will be no standing buildings or infrastructure around" if he dare to do anything that harm Singapore.

In terms of military strength :-

(1) Naval forces
Singapore have 40 missile combat vessel vs Malaysia 20 missile combat vessel.
Singapore have 140 armed vessel vs Malaysia 61 armed vessel.

(2) Air forces
Singapore have 200 fighters and fighters bombers vs Malaysia 49 fighter planes (24 malfunction, 13 light attack - only 12 are fighters that are working)

(3) Army
Singapore have 2,700 armour, arty and missiles launcher vs Malaysia 1,500.
Singapore have 1 million (active and reserve) (plus 430k decommission) troops vs Malaysia 420k (active and reserve)

Do you think Malaysia will dare to invade us or cause us "pain in thousand cuts" or instead Malaysia will be the one that suffer "pain in thousand cuts" ?

The Polaris U-turn and may suka suka return under Mahathir U-turn rules of law. Unless the "so-call" hidden bully mutual win win discussion of gangsterism exorbitant unreasonable demand is disappeared, there were no end to the solution.

Mutual benefits discussion must based on fair and balance under the full recognition of law and signed agreements. It's can allowed to be amended only if two parties agreed, not by directly or indirectly arrogantly apply "gangster like" pressure by doing this and that to force a one-sided gains on a soft target. This is a bully and take advantage situation discussion.

In the first place Singapore has had no obligation to entertain this unnecessarily meeting since all its agreement are bound by domestic rules of law as well as international law protection.
Nevertheless, Singapore wants good friends and good neighbourhood relationship in order to allow both citizens to live comfortably and harmoniously especially in a multi racial country.

Breeke Lo ,
Since all the matter started by Malaysia, if Singapore keep silence, then the next bunch of ship intrusion is not Polaris perhaps military ships followed by cargos and commercial vessels roaming in Singapore territory water.
In another word Singapore has to entertain them by diplomatic channel with pen and papers weapons.
As we know Mahathir is a world renowned crafty and cunning character very obstinately and cleverness sharp minded in capturing every single opportunity to deal with his foes for his own goal.

Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has delivered a warning to Muslims to place their trust in Muslim leaders regardless of their wickedness, claiming that believers will end up in hell if led by non-Muslims.
Awang is Malaysia great now? All the long years rule by Muslim Leaders. Is middle east peaceful or having brothers kill brothers. Rule with heart and soul and not using god. If you win and rule youe country I think all will die.

Dr M had already made himself clear even to his younger "to-be successors" i.e. "same strategies regarding S'pore" hence his 93 years old & outdated "abang bersar tekan adek kechil tactics is to intrude first, talk and then go", to test our tolerable limit without any facts & figures to substantiate their "pluck from the air" disputes ? The whole world is watching and majority can understand our current situation in dealing with this 93 years old outdated and closed mentality (not too sure for how long ?). Just hope his younger successor can be more "open-minded", reasonable and follow rule of law and forgo his unreasonable strategies to work with our 4G leaders for the good sake of our future generation.
