All NSman and Reservists --- should be given a thorough safety message before any major exercise to warn them on safety.

Most of the time, it is the ground people who are careless or do not observe safety regulations - due to negligence, carelessness, playful, tiredness, fatigue or sometimes abuse.

Even we have the best safety policy in place - if ground people don't observe safety - accidents still can happen.

The message should be "Train realistically, but safely".
Most if not all the time - "Safety is common sense".

Ground commander and men down the line - if sense that if the men is in a dangerous position - "STOP" ---- Stop, Think, Observe, Plan --- and get out of the "dangerous situation" ---- before proceeding.

Such event should be communicated back to the Commander - and brief everyone --- so that such incident will not be repeated.
Not proceed mindlessly in the interest of time, careless or "heck care" attitude.

Everyone on the field should look out for everyone --- to ensure the safety of everyone.

The 3 soldiers who were killed in the past 18 months are ordinary children. Their family are devasted. The last one who were killed in the past 18 months is our own breed artist and also a public figure. Not only their family are devasted. Many who watched his drama and movies are devasted. This continuous accidents in the SAF has to stop and SAF has to hand over the responsible people who caused this accident. And not just inquiry and recommendation.

ok i know recently our neigbour in the north has shown how hostile they can be over night, we cannot take NS training lightly....but due to recent spate of SAF training fatality, i urge Mindef to issue an order to all SAF units to review their training methods and procedures to ensure safety of our soldiers is placed first priority..... cos so far our enemies haven't kill any of our soldiers, seems our own trainings have done so...

Killing your own soldiers even before they go to war will let the citizens lose confidence. Now who dare to be smart in the SAF when doing their NS. Most will know tried to hide in the safe corner.

What is the point of have COI when accident keep on happening? Is it just a way to cover up? Somebody need to be answerable if thing happen. This is a life matter. How can take it so lightly? How would other countries look at us? I agree " Before enemies kill us, we kill ourselves first."

Lets be honest, safety is hard to instill into singaporeans during NS. 99% of all nsf treat NS as a burden. If you want to instill safety into all NSF, very easy, one mistake, DB straight away. However, no one will agree to this policy.

there seems to be no safety measures to ensure that our new enlistees are in good hands, examples got seniors watching them. And procedures in place that make sure they don't get heatstroke etc.

Our ministers are they only paper general? They really need to look into the real life training and make sure everything is safe otherwise it will happen again and again and again.
