K Tan Don - We will not negotiate with the old hat on water issue - as our stand is clear - an international agreement signed - need to be honor. The old hat has no case against us.

The old hat has not much leverages against us - he can only irritate us.

We can wait.

In Pedra Branca case - we have waited 29 years to resolve and win the case.
We have very long enduring power.

We can wait for another 29 years to deal with the old hat.
Does the old hat has another 29 years?

(1) Singapore is the 3rd largest investors in Malaysia (after China and Switzerland) in 2018.
Now with Malaysia stopping China project - I think Singapore and Switzerland should be providing more foriegn investment jobs to Malaysia.

In total Singapore has committed US$26 billion investment in Malaysia - creating many local Malaysian jobs.

(2) Singapore visit to Johor alone where tourism spending is $16.6 billion per year - where Johore Economy is mainly dependant on Singapore tourism spending.

You think Malaysia depends on Singapore more - or you think Singapore has much more leverages on Malaysia.

Do you think Singapore need to listen and bend to the old hat?

We are very sure we have much more leverage than the old hat.

The last 29 years speak for itself.
Singapore has grow from strength to strength.

Look at your old hat - what he did to Malaysia?
Political turmoil, social disharmony, economy ?

(1) Johor need Singapore for treated water.

(2) Malaysia agricultural sector export economy - mainly to Singapore eg. eggs, poultry, vegetables, fish, shrimps, palm oil etc --- and Singapore has diverisifed all our food sources to 129 Countries and suppliers.

You think the old hat will be hurt more or we will hurt more?

The old hat has almost not much leverages against us --- Economy wise ---- very minimal impact, using food and water against us --- almost not effective.

You think the old hat will lose more economically if he continue to irritate us?

What will the old hat lose?
(1) Investment of US$26 billion - and many Malaysian jobs (Singapore is Malaysia 3rd largest investor)
(2) Tourism receipt of S$16.6 billion - and many Malaysian retail, food beverages, shopping business and jobs (Singapore is Malaysia largest tourism contributor)
(3) Export Economy of S$31.6 billion - agricultural sectors (Singapore is Malaysia largest export market)
(4) Treated water to Johor (Singapore is Johor only treated water supplier)

(5) Singapore is Malaysia largest foreign employers.

Pedra Branca case - 29 years spanning 3 Generation Leaders.

I am sure many Malaysians will get very irritated by the old hat - as Malaysians are very dependant on Singapore.

Let see the old hat crack first or we crack first.

Let see the Malaysians that depend on Singapore crack first or we crack first.

Let the old hat bring up more issues to irritate us ---- we have plenty of leverages against the old hat.

Ricky Lim : Thanks for boosting your advantages..May I remind you that in histroy no country will forever prosper and rich ? Whatever you enjoy now may turn upside down one fine day especially if there is serious global econony downturn. Malaysia can still survive, we have natural resources and more lands for farming..once Thailand built the Southern Kra Canal, Singapore's advantage will be gone by half, at least..so when the global economy turns very bad, your quarrel with neighbor becomes really bad and Thailand successfully build the Southern Kra channel..let's see whether you still can retain that advantages forever..

You say "The Thai Canal project destroy Singapore in future."

Let me tell you something :-
Thailand Government will not agree to build the canal because :-
(1) By breaking the Country into 2 - where the Southern part are facing Muslim rebellion - the Government will lose the southern part of the Country to Malaysia - and lose its Sovereignty. The Thai Government are not stupid.

(2) The cost of canal is estimated to be S$37 billion - and could be more - the cost is too high to embark - and almost not possible to recoup the cost.

(3) Millions of Thais need to be relocated - which will turn out to be a political minefield to the Thai Government - not including relocation cost. The cost will become too much for Thai Government to fund.

(4) The saving to shipping companies are only 72 hours --- and ports need many facilities that are provided by Singapore ports ---- which is not a great incentive for shipping companies to switch.

(5) The environmental impact of digging out the soil and granite - will damaged the fisheries eco-system in Thailand - and many Thai fisherman will go out of business - and this will be another political landmine to the Thai Government.

So don't try to be a fear monger - it won't work.

--- If Thailand ever build the kra canal - it will hurt the Malaysia port more than Singapore.

K Tan Don - Also Singapore collaboration with China Belt and Roads has deepen many notches.

You should more worry about Malaysia future --- don't worry about us.

Your old hat has still not ratified the CPTPP.

BTW, all other 7 large Economies has ratified the CPTPP - and has start trading now since 2 Jan 2019 --- they are Japan, Canada, Mexico, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

So economy wise, Malaysia will lag far behind.

K Tan Don - We will not budge whether to this old hat or to the new leaders.

The new leaders will have less historical baggage than the old hat - as they have talks with our leaders and express willingness to work for mutual benefits than hostility.

They understand the "trade off between mutual benefits vs hostility" - compare to the old hat who is full of his nostalgic historical baggage.
Just listing the above eg. Singapore has accounted for $97.24 billion (RM$291.72 billion) in Malaysia Economy (I have not listed others).

You think the Malaysian new leaders are mad like this old hat - to continue hostility with Singapore?

To date only this old hat display hostilities and not the rest of your new leaders.

So Singaporeans will just wait till this old hat - take away by the karma - as we wait.

Singaporeans man-in-the-street will learn to take more and more of the old hat irritation - until karma take him away.

"Same strategies regarding S'pore...". This serves as a wake-up call for all S'porean that Dr M will instill his DNA into his succesoor to continue treating us as their "punching bag" or 'political target" despite all our goodwill gestrues in subsidsing processed water, give in to certain conditions in good neighbourhood spirit to understand their current financial situation in the termination of HSR project, humane medical treatment to some of ther leaders or state rulers, etc. From this article, S'porean need to be united with capable 4G leaders to handle them and tackle all those unreasonable claims or disputes raised unnecessarily just to distract attention from their own domestic problems. In putting MY in S'pore's shoe, what if Indonesai claim Sarawak & Sabah belong to Indonesia as they are within walking distance from Kalimantan but thousands of KM away from KL/Putrjaya and also seperated from S. Malaysia can only be governed by Mahathir because the structure, people, civil servants, gronies and friends/relatives/children he placed there long along are meant only for him. Now he’s back, he will not change but strengthen what he originally placed there only for himself so that no one can take over from him, perhaps maybe only his own son so as to preserve his legacy. We shall see what happen in less one and a half years time and also what happen even after he hand over power. There will be no peace even after he hand over power to Anwar.

Hopefully Mahathir will not break his promises with the PH pact agreement that he will hand over his interim PM to Anwar after two years. His promise to hand over the PM to Anwar had been acknowledged worldwide and respected. It's not advisable for him to blatantly and shameless to make a rude "U-TURN AGAIN ".
Anwar needs mahathir's guidance at this juncture as he's just freshly released from prison for an unimaginable sodomy charge by Mahathir.
Anwar and DAP lims with mahathir's guidance and the trust from Rakyat, PH Malaysia will certainly back on track very soon.

many have forgotten that Anwar brought the teen Azmin into political and put trust on him together family.
Unfortunately, Anwar was abruptly kicked into prison the second times and Azmin was shadowy instigated by Mahathir, cohoot political gains as well as for future cooperation. Poor Anwar in cell and his wife aziza was in the dark while ingrateful Azmin building his close political relationship with Mahathir.

Currently Azmin cleverly steps on two boats suspecting Mahathir may fail to block Anwar premiership, thus he has to wear to masks. But obviously by now Azmin's wild intentions has exposed, and those small frogs group (influenced by Mahathir ) who now supported him are just merely following the wind direction.
And Anwar will forgive them.

I'll be pretty surprise if you tell me that you will reject that opportunity to get promoted.

Since 1981, Dr M is well known for his anti-S'pore strategies. His recent open statment : "same strategies regarding S'pore" is evident that he will continue
to inject his "poisonous DNA" into all his upcoming political leaders or officials' blood to endlessly make things difficult for us for generations to come even after his death. There are many things we can work and prosper together but he choose not to without any valid reason nor any logic & sense and never been grateful to our many goodwill gestures done for them. If there is retribution or karma, just hope one day our biggest Asean brother Indonesia come to claim Sarawak & Sabah from MY which are just within walking distance from Kalimantan but thousands of Km away from Putrajaya. Also hopefully Johor will seek independence like Brunei which are so friendly and prosper together with S'pore (with equal 1 to 1 currency excahnge rate) instead of having to contribute heavily to those unproductive & irresponsible federal government who only do politiking at the expense of ordinary people.
