We note that the first Foreign Ministers meeting has kicked off with a cordial start - and sincere effort to de-escalate as well as to resolve the various disputing issues through mutual respect and equality.
Cautiously, it look like a good start.

Singapore again show good faith . But Malaysia remaining ship should also leave Singapore water .

Fortunately unlike Seletar Airport, our International Airport is located at Changi where commercial aircrafts can avoid plying over Pasir Gudang otherewise we may have to drop our international air traffic control standard from ILS to primitive "Visual Assessment" which air traffic controllers may have to go back to those using binnoculars to moonitor aircraft's movement ?

Those aircraft flying into Chnagi either passing thru above Malaysia Penggeraang Area or Indonesia Batam Island. Both of the airspace while belong to each countries, the FIR is controlled by Singapore. Once this 2 countries build up their capability that no guarantee it will controlled by Singapore anymore.

Kok Chee Seong - I think you don't understand FIR.
The aircraft that take off from our airports will have to be controlled by us - because others do not have visibility into our airports landing and takeoff - a safety requirement by ICAO.
Imagine there are planes taking off and landing in our airport --- and you direct your plane to land in our airport with no visibility into our airport - and cause a collision with our planes is it?
Does it make sense?
If not you want Bangkok FIR to control their aircraft landing into KL - where they have no visibility into the KL airport - with flights going in and out - and cause collision in your KL airport?
It sounds stupid isn't it?

Very true...
Mere words...diplomatic words... good in front of TV cameras...for show only...saying insincere words with a broad smile...such as Malaysia and Singapore want "to preserve the vital relationship between both countries and to improving bilateral ties"...but never doing what they said.
These words will not result in any improvement in relationship.
We are very SURE...come tomorrow, Dr M will continue...to raise issues...to make things difficult for us.
Is this the way to 'improve' relationship ?
Singapore must not be fooled by empty words.
Singapore has to face two kinds of leaders in Malaysia:
One, the Good ones ...like the Crown Prince of Johor.
The other, the BAD ones...like Dr M, the PM of Malaysia.
We must be realistic....we cannot expect Malaysia to have good leaders all the time.
When there are bad ones, ...we must deal with them ...the 'right way'.

By establishing Permanent Restricted Area over Pasir Gudang - it hurt Malaysia as well as it hurt Singapore - where civilian aircrafts coming from Malaysia to Singapore and vice versa - will be affected ---- as the incoming and outgoing aircrafts need to skirt the restricted area and spill over to the Tanjung Langsat Port ---- that may compromise the safety of the civilian aircrafts.
By opening up the Pasir Gudang airspace - the incoming aircraft from Malaysia can take this path and the outcoming aircraft can fly over the Tanjung Langsat Port ---- without the risk of causing collision.
It is a joke to close the Pasir Gudang airspace with the permanent restricted area - an unwise move.
It meant to block the flight from Seletar Airport - but it also impact the Malaysia bound flight from Changi Airport - that will impact Malaysia aircraft flight path.

Breeke Lo - It was suicidal move for both Malaysia and Singapore - if commercial aircraft complain to ICAO for compromising air safety - it will hurt Malaysia more for resorting to such move that endanger commercial flight.
Then we can do something by moving the inbound and outbound flight path into our FIR international airspace to break the deadlock - out of Malaysian airspace.
But this will mean slightly higher fuel cost for all commercial flights. And it means passengers flying the air route to KL, Penang, Langkawi to Singapore and vice versa will be more expensive.
So in the end - Lose-Lose
Malaysia (lose most) - all commercial aircraft stop plying in Malaysian airspace coming to Singapore, Commercial Aircraft got to pay more on fuel price and we got more congested airspace in our FIR (but I think the capacity in our airspace still have many buffers - as our airspace is 3 times the size of Malaysian airspace).

K Tan Don - I am not refering to Singapore surface area.
I am refering to Singapore FIR airpace management that project out to South China Sea which is about 3 times the size of the airspace of KL FIR.
This show that you do not know the airspace management.
If aircraft go by Singapore FIR, then KL FIR will not manage Malaysia bound aircraft - Singapore FIR will manage all Malaysia bound aircraft all the way using our ILS system - and just before it reach KL airport or Penang airport or Langkawi airport - we will tranfer to Bangkok FIR and then handover to KL FIR to land.
Is that what you want?
But this is a viable option - if the deadlock is prolong. And air safety cannot be compromised.
The only downsides are :-
(1) Slightly higher fuel cost to commercial aircraft
(2) It is translated to slightly higher passenger fare
(3) Our Singapore FIR is slightly more congested - and it will have to involve Bangkok FIR to handover to KL FIR - instead of 2 FIR - where Singapore FIR handover to KL FIR.
(4) KL FIR lose all Malaysia bound commercial flight.

Breeke Lo Yes, the old snake is impotent. Now he realised whacking SG has failed to rally msians to the streets to protect agst SG. Instead they protested against ICERD which was their internal matter. Cracks began to appear in Pakatan Harapan coalition with some people "washing their dirty laundry in public". Now some uneasiness over the Agong's abdication. The old snake failed to divert pressure away from such domestic issues by whacking SG

Trust not those Bodohs from the North. They dont have the brain and talent to match Singapore in everyway. The next round will be the same. At the end of the day and as usual they will say they to want to maintain good relationships among neighbours. They are the serpents behind those phoney smiles. They cannot cheat Singapore. They must know that.

Breeke Lo Can easily tell those from the North have no brain to know now to cheat us. We too cannot be cheat by them.

Lu Pin - Just some dirty tactics you call checkmate.
If you look at the state of Economy, the huge debt, their per capita GDP, their kopi lui culture, racial division, social disharmony across the Causeway - compare to us now ---- then you will see who got checkmate.
Seriously you want to exchange your places and stay across the Causeway?

K Tan Don - we don't look down at people as long as people don't bully us.
Our foreign policy is "Friends with All, Adversity with None. Forge mutual benefits with Win-Win outcome."
But We have been bullied since independence - and we will retaliate if we are bullied.
As for water, you can beg and cry - we will not budge and if you insist, we can settle in International Courts.

Ricky Lim dirty no doubt, but guess what, they worked. 兵不厌诈。Aren't their ships still not respecting our sovereignty? The fate of ILS / Seletar Airport .. suspended..indefinitely. Isn't that as good as dead?
Now, what are the "firm actions" we took so far? War cries, countless warnings and threats, an open mob - NATO. When it became obvious no one across the causeway has lost any sleep, we switched to FIRM understanding, patience and almost altruistic for our mutual good. My foot.
Any special mentions? Yes, we
bagged a "special giveaway prize" for THWARTING their 2-week old Restricted Zone. Should hv a public holiday for this.
Checkmate is just right.

Breeke Lo - Dealing with adversity is a long-shot thing.
If you are looking at short term result - you will be disappointed.
Reflect our past dealings across the Causeway for the last 5 decades - and see who got checkmate. (You reflect over water, hinterland, economy, racial and religious social compact, finance, governance, clean government, international standings, wealth, military etc ---- you see the result).
Not discussing any indepth things here - you will just have to live with it longer to see results.
Great haste less speed.
Many people will "wow" for immediate results like "launching war in middle east" - but look across the middle east --- destruction, massive death and sufferings.
Immediate gratification for impatient people is satisfying for a short while - what take over is long term suffering.
Wise people don't do it this way - and has long enduring patience.
Look up at many ancient wise books - there are alot of wisdom there.
Don't look at superficial glory or small "victory" - look deep.
It is better to lose a battle but win the war.

Ricky Lim Totally agree. Not looking for immediate win either - because there is none, this is a perpetual storyline. While we fight the many battles, sovereignty must not be compromised, otherwise, we have already lost the war. Have you forgotten the warnings and cautions made by Khaw, CCS, Ng EH?
Ricky Lim
Breeke Lo - Glad that you agree with me.
Just be patient and live with the "discomfort".
We have live it for the last 29 years and win the Preda Branca.
We have also win over the "throat squeezing - water cut" and the "food dependant".
We have also overcome the hinterland constraint - where the World is now our hinterland.
Plus many more.
To me, these few issues is "sub-sub water" --- more like irritation rather than "live threatening". More like playing with them in the kampong league (while we are actually operating in the World Cup league).
To be honest, we have recently secured many big tangible "winning thinghy" that will entrenched our success longer and deeper into the future. No need to elaborate here.

Breeke Lo - ha ha ha ha.
The intruded ships are now our bedded "sleep partners" - surrounded and trap by us.
They feel more like "imprisoned" with no where to go - wake up, eat, drink, shit, urine and then sleep.
They are getting very bored.
They may get claustrophobia....
The best part is make your adversary to become your friends. This is the highest form of 心法。
