Singapore "will have to ease immigration laws to stay competitive": EIU

Can ease immigration - provided that the Government can provide employment to all Singaporeans.

Currently, even restricting immigration, many mature Singaporeans PMETs still cannot get jobs.

If all Singaporeans can get jobs - it doesn't matter whether the immigration is ease or tighten.

If qualified Singaporeans are available and yet passed over in favour of foreigners - then it is a big issue where Singaporeans cannot secure jobs but yet immigration are throw wide open to bring in foreigners.

Otherwise the Government absorb all the Singaporeans unemployed and offer them jobs.

Then easing immigration is not a problem at all.
