Eradicating IS require surgical strategic win - not carpet bombing.

Winning over the Sunni populations in Tikrit, Mosul and other territories is a pre-requsite to alienate IS from the Sunni communities.

Winning the mind and heart is longer lasting than carpet bombing.

Thus tightening the seizure and the noose bit by bit - to break the supply, the morale of the IS group - and recapture km by km of territories while encouraging Sunni population to come over will be far more surgical and strategic in eradicating the IS.

This is the right strategy adopted.

Strategic win, and long-lasting eradication of IS is better than quick but messy win that leave alot of remnant problems later that need to clean up later.

Remember, earlier the Iraq troop lost Tikrit and Mosul without a fight because Sunnis are alienated in Tikrit and Mosul.

By losing the heart and mind of the population, it become a lost cause in holding the 2 cities because the troop will be facing a hostile population amidst them.

But by winning over the Sunni population in Tikrit and Mosul - with strategic win while taking care of them, IS will fall in no time - as IS lost all moral supports from the World with its evilness, cruelty, extreme Exclusiveness and barbaric disposition that is threatening even the Sunni populations it rule.

IS will fall very soon.
