Time is on the Iraqi troops side is correct.

Surrounding the IS and cutting all their access to supply, logistics, material, food, water, manpower etc - will suffocate, drain them, and choke them - very soon the IS will start to crack and do desperate attempts.

IS will exhaust their food, water, ammo etc - and many will be captured as POWs, so that justice can be done to them accoridng to International Law for war crime.

Casaulties for the Iraq troops and civilians can also be minimised.

It is also good to see the Minister for Defense is a Sunni, and there are no massacre of Sunni civilians in Tikrit which smell good for Iraq for the battle of Tikrit and subsequently Mosul.
Well done and press on - the victory will finally be yours.
