The reason of the missile defense shields in Europe and S Korea - because it effectively cover the right flank and left flank of ICBM missiles hurtling into US.

  The installation in Guam is sufficient to intercept missiles headed towards the U.S.. The system is not limited to ICBMs, it is a much more advanced system that can defend against a variety of missiles. It is scheduled to replace patriot missile batteries in the U.S. and, as you should know, the patriot missile was designed to defend against the scud and other Soviet missiles. Those missiles (and the North Korean knock-offs) comprise the bulk of the North's arsenal, so why not defend against them with a system that is even better than what is being used now?

  Well thinking aloud, there could be tactical reason, strategic reason and political reason.
  
  Firstly, tactical reason. Deploying THAAD in S Korea provide 1st line, 1st stage of shield from hurtling missiles rather than let it fly past to Pacific Ocean before Guam THAAD 2nd line, 2nd stage intercept. What happen 1 or 2 missiles slip through?
  If the 1st line, 1st stage at S Korea intercepted most if not all, Guam THAAD will have an easier time to take down the remnants.
  
  Secondly, strategic and political reason. If the interception is done at S Korea THAAD, hurtling missiles at the left flank across Pacific Ocean will be highly unpalatable because China will make noise as the impact is so close to China mainland - complicating the offensive.
  
  Having say so, there will still be submarines and bombers that carry the nuclear warhead.

  That is why if NATO and Russia hotspot ignite and fight, it will be a domino effect.
  It will simultaneously ignite 2 more hotspots :-
  (1) Asia Pacific hotspot
  (2) Middle East hotspot
  
  - and the consequences is World War 3 - and the end of Human Mankind.
  
  It is not a joke, it is a Vision.
