Singapore should try to stop further investment into Malaysia and should invest in more friendly Countries.

Singapore should also lodge a Court case with UN International Court of Justice for Justice if Malaysia breach the signed International Agreement.

It look like the world owe them a living. The 3 cts per 1000gal is a token and not a price for the water, since it can not be free. Sgp sell them treated water at 50cts per 1000gal in return. They can start their own Treatment plant to save cost and stop buying from SGP if they can treat water at 50cts per 1000gal. .

K Tan Don relax. Do recognise that it is natural to be angry when promises are broken. Not the time to provoke and add oil to fire.

Breeke Lo I am not adding fuel to fire..I am just not happy people are taking advantage of us..there should room for negotiation for win win situation..but based on the comments I see here..is most are very happy to take advantage of the 3 cents deal..

K Tan Don what maked me think that you guys cant make a water treatment plant that only costs 50 cents per gallon ? Simple. 1. You guys are in debt 2. A water treatment plant costs more thsb 50¢ to make water

K Tan Don i agree on your point that 3 csnts per gallon is unfair though .
But you do not go acting all high and mighty and threaten to "cut our water supply"
You do not have the authority to do that.

K Tan Don . The cost of treat, is more than $ 1MYR. SG sell to Johor at 50 cens. Do it yourself then water prices will increase for ppl at both side of the crossway only. Get it?

Jeffery Tan : So start negotiating, rather than giving out statements like both side have to adhere to blah..blah..gosh u guys sound like China..’we are operating within our territory..’ 3 cents are virtually nothing..even if u give a 5 cent to beggars these days, they will also not appreciate it...

Nobody is taking advantage of your bolihland.
Take one step back and see the buying back price for the treated clean water which your bolihlanders are enjoying.
SG people are not complaining you guys are taking advantage of such low price, at 50 cents per 1000 gallon.
On your suggestion of building a treatment plant, it's like a mirage for the near future. You may imagine it but in reality, you can't have and touch it. The money suggested to build this plant can be put to better use.
By the way, with Dr.M frying roti prata, who do you think are willing to help you built this treatment plant, cheaply?

K Tan Don The 1962 water treaty has always been a win for Malaysia. Singapore buys dirty river water from Malaysia that costs Malaysia nothing. Singapore pays for all costs related to transporting the water to Singapore on top of rent to Malaysia for the space used by structures such as the dam. Singapore then sells clean expensively treated water to Malaysia at 50 sens, the same price that this chief minister wants to sell dirty water to Singapore for. As for building your own water treatment plant, Malaysia could have done it years ago and used it as leverage against Singapore. So why didn't you do it? Because Malaysia prefers to benefit from the treaty and buy cheap water from Singapore. But please build that water treatment plant before the treaty ends in 2061. By then, Singapore may ask Malaysia to "turn off the tap", as Singapore no longer wishes to supply expensive treated water to Malaysia as the "ridiculous" price of 50 sens.

K Tan Don - You say
"Breeke Lo I am not adding fuel to fire..I am just not happy people are taking advantage of us..there should room for negotiation for win win situation..but based on the comments I see here..is most are very happy to take advantage of the 3 cents deal.."

---
The below is actual cost from official source :-
(1) Cost of rain water to Malaysia = RM 0 sen
(2) Malaysia charges Singapore for rain water = RM 3 sen
(3) Singapore cost of treating water = RM$2.40 sen (per 1000 gallons).
(4) Singapore charge Malaysia only = RM$0.50 sen (per 1000 gallons).
(5) Malaysia sells the water to Malaysia consumers = RM$3.60 sen (per 1000 gallons).
(6) Singapore directly subsidises to Malaysia = RM$1.90 sen (per 1000 gallons).

Malaysia does nothing and make = RM$3.10 sen (per 1000 gallons).

Do you think Dr M is fair to want to revise the so called "3 sens water".

Dr M is a big fat liar.

K Tan Don You goad Singapore to "start negotiating". Perhaps you have forgotten that Mahathir and company have not approached Singapore officially on either the HSR or this. They have only mouthed off to the media. Why? Because they know they have no case. So they try to stir the shit by going to the press. Your leaders are not that hard to read because they handle diplomacy with the maturity of an eight-year-old.

U can dream , Pedra Branca already half way through the appeal world court they decided to withdraw now water. Instead of starting another wayang they should spent time how to improve their own water supply. They are gifted with rivers and natural resources but interested in their own pockets.

No $$ Montivation for them to improve their water supply now. Not enough, just shot over, hello bro, more water boleh, and we always help. everybody happy.

Dr M just have to try to mess up Singapore-Johor relationship.

Surely Mahathir and his chief ministers must know a proposal to sell dirty river water for 50 sens when they are buying clean water at the same price, er, holds no water. Which is why they make these comments to the media without a dialogue with Singapore. So what is the real reason we keep hearing inane utterances from Malaysia's leadership? What does Mahathir hope to achieve by getting Malaysians riled up over the perception that Singapore is taking advantage of Malaysia? Whatever the answer, it doesn't say much about Malaysia's leadership.

There's that water agreement made some 55 years ago. As I understand it, unilateral imposition of new price is not allowable. From what I read of the agreement, in the event of dispute, the matter shall go for arbitration, and the arbitral award, at the end of the day, is full and binding on the parties.

The United Nations is a mere depository, and it has no substantive role to play, when parties to the agreement are in dispute.

Ricky Lim. We will use the compensation from HSR of MR 500 million to build more water treatment plants. International Laws and the Rule of Law will put them in their place...as we did with Pedra Branca. We did it. No money and he wants to form an island on Middle Rocks? So should we expand on Pedra Branca.

With more than over hundreds of thousands of Americans, Australians, Japanese, Europeans, S Koreans, Philippinos, etc working n living here, not to mention the 500,000 Malaysians coming daily to work here.., the multinational embassies, corporations and banks!
LKY, GOH Keng Swee n their men brilliantly encouraged multinational companies to set up their operations here.

Tory Simm . Let him do first reclaim Middle rock first. Then we reclaim pulau tekong, and pulau ubin to join with Singapore and create a big water reservoir in bertween. It will increase our water catchment area greatly.

Tory Simm - Now they just talk and talk.
We do not need to react to every utterances they make.

We just observe and rebutt them over the social media - to make them realise how stupid their actions are.

Unless they officially act, then proper response will be made.
We are in the upper hands in terms of :-
- law is on our side
- money is on our side
- all the necessary resources, preparation and facilities is on our side
- we are strong in almost all aspects

So no need to over-react.
Let observe them as they move.
