Canadian premier Justin Trudeau weighed in later on Tuesday, celebrating the announcement of a new Asia-Pacific trade agreement between 11 countries to replace one that Trump pulled out of last year.

It will be a pity if TPP-11 cannot be concluded.
To counter the movement of protectionism, isolation, nationalism and xenophobic - it is important that the 11 conclude the TPP-11 with "give and take" - to ensure that multilateral trade deals don't fall apart and succumb to protectionism.
Canada is the victim of NAFTA protectionism - and TPP-11 is the deal to cushion the impact of such protectionism.

This will send a good signal to Trump - that the World will not stop revolving when Trump adopt anti-multilateral trade deal.
Trump's approach to trade protectionism is not welcome by the World.
