Why need India to launch our satellites? Can't we launch in Pulau XXXX far from Mainland Singapore? We have rocket scientists trained from elite universities, why not?

Developing rockets to launch satellite up into spaces only once in a blue moon - will be a losing business.
The purpose of developing rocket technology is not only business or commercial focus - it should also come with military motivation - like developing ICBM (Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles) - to launch conventional warhead or nuclear warhead - as offensive weapons.
Singapore defense is more defensive in nature - no need rocket technology that are intercontinental in nature.
Moreover, Singapore land spaces is limited and rocket technology is a high cost investment with not so lucrative ROI for commercial purposes - unless for military purposes.
Singapore is a small Country and will not require ICBM to protect vast territory.

Imagine launch one time, a rocket is lost - as it cannot be reused.
How many time a rocket need to be launch and tested to make a rocket successfully launched into space?
Many times - and it means burning money away at each launch.
So who will fund this rocket - for shooting millions of dollars into space and then gone?
Assume we are able to do successful launch each time - then we need to compete with so many rocket launching firms - such as US space shuttle NASA, Europe, India, China, Japan, Russia etc ------ we wonder are there so many commercial satellites to launch in the World - and we can compete to win the right to launch?
US, Europe, India, China, Japan, Russia - has large military missile & rocket units for defense to protect their vast territory.
Singapore is only a tiny red dot - kachan puteh - almost not feasible to develop rocket technology.
Developing space technology like satellite - is already a very major achievement - for Singapore as a little red dot.
