This is true and human mankind under the Universal Law of Karma - is subjecting to the karma of 小三灾 (the minor 3 Earth catastrophe).
(1) Natural disasters - climatic condition from greenhouse effects, meteroite strinking earth, Earth disintegration, Black Hole, Solar cause explosion, volcanic eruption, earthquake, tsunami etc.
(2) War - nuclear war, conventional war
(3) Epidemic - diseases
This 小三灾 (the minor 3 Earth catastrophe) is the karma from 3 inherent evil human roots of :-
(1) Greed, attachment to self
(2) Hatred
(3) Ignorance of Universal Law
The law of physics is non-negotiable - indeed the Universal Law of karma is non-negotiable - human reap what human sow.
We damaged the environment (the 4 Great Elements of matter, air, temperature, water) that provide us a means to live - and the environment turn back to punish us.
Now do we know why the Divinity holy mission :-
"Leave no sentinent beings (5 mental aggregates) behind - even the last sentinent being must be salvaged."
In addition. leave no 4 Gret Element behind - even the last grain of sand in the Universe must be salvaged."
Before all karma cease to operate - in the Final Great Nirvana.
Nothing in this Universe is haram - leave nothing behind - as all must be salvaged.
This is the Final Big Mutually Inclusiveness of Great Compassion !!!
(Leave no man behind. Leave no sand behind.)

All religions condemned non-believers to eternal hell and will not be salvaged.
The only exception is Buddhism, where Divine Beings will descend to hell to salvaged sentinent beings.

And the Resident Divine Being that make Bodhi Vows to salvage sentinent beings from Hell and Hungry Ghosts realms is - 地藏王菩萨。
No other religions make such commitment to salvage sentinent beings from Hell and Hungry Ghosts realms with the exception of Buddhism - who understand that Nirvana is only complete when all sentinent beings are salvaged.

Why this piece of information is so important - because many sentinent beings will descend to Hell and Hungry Ghosts realms - due to the volition of karma of Extreme Hatred and Extreme Greed.
