Just an analogy:-
If this daughter killed her mother and then commit suicide - the karma is very severe.

(1) Killing of mother or father - the karma is Avici Hell (阿鼻地狱) - the most severe major hell out of the 5 hells.
(2) Commit suicide - the karma is also Avici Hell (阿鼻地狱) - the most severe major hell out of the 5 major hells.

(Note :- Another 3 major sins that will cause karma of falling into Avici Hell (阿鼻地狱) - 1. Hurting a Buddha. 2. Killing a Arahat. 3. Causing Schism of the Sangha community)

RickyL: Catholics, as the deceased mother and daughters were, believe in a forgiving and compassionate God... NOT karma so... God is the sole judge. Yes, the action is not of God but...Please refrain from judgments as we still do love these our fellow Catholics.

Then people will keep on killing and killing and killing - because they believe that a forgiving and compassionate God will always forgive them.

This is definitely against the Universal Law of Karma. If anyone kill now, he/she will be arrested and put to death for committing murder.

Unfortunately, people could not see the consequences of after-life.

For Buddha with His Supreme Samadhi Jhana, He can see the people who commit such sin, desceneded to Avici Hell and have to suffer the consequences until their karma expired and they fully repented before they can rebirth to a better realm.

In Avici Hel - the Sufferings is like burning oil frying the sentinent beings alive.
The coldness is like a knife piercing through a bone.

Thus control, subdue and eradicate our Ignorance of Universal Law, Hatred/Anger, Greed/Attachment to wrong view.

Thus manifest our No-Self, Compassion and Panna Wisdom.

Some people errorneously think that with forgiving and compassionate God - one can commit killings with immunity, commit holy war with immunity, commit suicide killing with immunity, commuit honour killing with immunity - without realising that "you reap what you sow. what comes around goes around" - this is known as Universal Law of Karma.

An Enlightened Being is forgiving and compassionate - provide a person repented, pay back the karma for the sin he/she has committed and aspire to progress spiritually.

An Enlightened Being is not forgiving and compassionate - by giving the impression to His disciple that you can commit whatever sins and crimes you like - and you will be forgiven. This is a Satan or Devil - because He is giving the wrong impression to His disciples to commit sin and crime - and do devil work.

And as a result of getting the impression one can kill, murder and commit sin - one will commit sin with immunity - thus many have use religion as justification to terrorise, commit killings, commit honour killings etc.

But Enlightened Being with divine eyes see such people descend into the hell realm - to suffer the conequences and no one can help them - until they full understand the consequences, fully repented by realising the need to know that the 3 evil roots (Ignorance of Universal Law, Hatred/Anger, Greed/Attachment to wrong views) has cause them to descend to 3 realms of sufferings.

One last question, if this daughter after killing her mother try commit suicide and did not die, what consequences will she suffer even though she is a Catholics?

(1) She will be arrested by police and throw into the prison.
(2) One charge will be pressed on her - for murdering her mother. Sentence - Death Penalty.
(3) Another charge will be pressed on her - for committing suicide. Sentence - Jail or fine.

Do you think the Catholic forgiving and compassionate God - can save her from Death Penalty, Jail or fine just simply she is a Catholic?

If yes, then it contradict the Universal Law of Karma.
If no, then it conform to the Universal Law of Karma.

By the way, under the grace of forgiving and compassionate God - did Catholic do not have to suffer from sickness, old age, death or any other sufferings like any other people of different faiths?

  Or did you think that because this daughter is a Catholic - and under the grace of a forgiving and compassionate God - think that she will be forgiven and pardon by the forgiving and compassionate God - has gone ahead to kill her mother and then commit suicide - thinking that she will not die and can fly to heaven.
  
  Do you think she has been fool - and then discover that she has in fact descended to Avici Hell rather than Heaven?
  
  She must be thinking now - what the stupid fool i am to have been conned.
