An inflated ego - is the greatest obstacle and hindrance to Wisdom and Enlightenment.
A deflated ego - is self-defeating, self-miseries.
A balanced ego - is the equilibrium factor ready for Enlightenment.

This is because - inflated ego - will block out other's view - full of own's view - and as a result fail to develop the Greater Wisdom.
An inflated ego - tend to attract anger due when others does not see eye to eye with own view - and can develop hatred, animosity ------ all are unwholesome consciousness --- and thus obscure the Greater Wisdom from manifesting.
The medication for developing Greater Wisdom - is to lower the "inflated ego" into a "balanced ego" ---- before unwholesome hindrances are cleanse - and Greater Wisdom grow.
