Pyongyang also cancelled at the last minute a high-level meeting with the South in protest over joint military drills between Seoul and Washington.
Despite that, Trump said he believes the North Korean leader is willing to give up nukes. "I do think he is serious. I think he is absolutely very serious."

For US and N Korea to held talk, conducive environment must be produced by both sides.
It must not be one-sided.
Assessing why things have gone sour :-
(1) Asking N Korea to denuclearise
(2) At the same time, both US and S Korea - are practising bombing run with stealth fighters of about 100 planes - so what signal is US giving N Korea?
You denuclearise - i practise to bomb you?
It is a wrong signal and creating wrong environment for talk.
(3) The wrong denuclearise model is proposed to N Korea - citing Libya model.
Is US trying to tell N Korea that it will behead the leader and try to make regime change?
(4) Keep ranting that "maximum pressure" has caused N Korea to give in.
N Korea will not be able to answer to their people - as the leader has succumb because of pressure. This will not sell well to their people for talk.
The climate for talk must be made conducive - before talk can begin.
Heart and Action must be in synch 心口合一 - for talk to be successful.
It must not be one-sided - for any talk will bound to fail.

As long as both sides do the correct things with sincerity - both Heart/Mind and Actions --- then it is possible to facilitate a successful talk.
N Korea leader ever say - why it keep its nuclear weapons when they have to inherit such an undesirable pressure?
This mean they want "Security Assurance" and it must be guaranteed - before they will let go of their "nuclear".
Look at what US have been doing on the above?
There is nothing to show that US is guaranteeing N Korea "Security Assurance".
The actions are exactly the opposite of what it says - 心口不一.
How will you expect N Korea to let go of its nuclear?
It is akin to 2 cowboys ready for a shootout - but both decide to put down their guns which they hold in the right hand.
But then one cowboy pull out another gun with his left hand hidden from his butt and point the gun at the other guy.
Then how will the other cowboy react?
Sincerity is not there.

Don't get the impression that I only side N Korea and does not side US.
If US is doing the correct thing, I will side US.
I look at fairness - not which muscle is bigger or who have deeper pocket.
Because there is such thing call the "Universal Law of Karma" - if fairness is not observed.
不是没因果，是凡人看不到。

By insisting to carry on the provocative military exercise with the USA, President Moon of South Korea should shoulder some responsibilies for North Korea to cancel the high level meeting between North and South Korea last week. Even though both leaders have signed and agreed to make peace, South Korea still carried on with the provocative military exercise showing little thrust, respect and sincerity to North Korea, As for Trump, he has temporily taken his radar off North Korea for now. He is now focusing his radar on Iran an extremely hot spot in the Middle East. Let us all hope that common sense will prevail and peace on the Korean Peninsula and in the Middle East can be achieved as soon as possible.
