The more urgent needs - is for the Government to focus on those who are 40, 50, 60 years old who need jobs to help them to find jobs.

This will ensure that they will sustain their income and support their families for those who need a job.

WSG, NTUC, e2i will have to work harder to ensure more businesses and organizations get buy in - to engage these group of Singaporeans as they are a productive workforce with good experience and surely will be able to contribute to the organizations.

The Singaporeans in the 40, 50, 60 years old who lose their jobs is a more vulnerable group - as many of their children are still in schools and most of the time are breadwinners.

And yet they have more difficulties getting jobs - after they lose their jobs.

The Government should spend more effort to help these group of people - when they seek help.

Singapore is a great place to live, no question about it. Which is why so many wealthy folk come here to make it their (second) home. And our government welcomes them with open arms. But make no mistake - not all is rosey and right with this island state. One of the major problems is the unequal distribution of income. On paper and in theory, we are a rich nation. But on the ground and in reality, the spoils go to the select few, the elites and top 20 percent. The rest do not come anywhere near the Swiss standard of living we were promised. The rich own the highways of Singapore's economy and they make the masses pay toll to use them. The best or worst thing is they have no intention of changing anything. So whatever the state of the economy, the elite still sit pretty. Even when they mess up. They are untouchable; others take the blame.

We must all tighten our belt! Every dollar spent may not be able to earn back as jobs are going to the FT.
Like what PM said in labour day speech, we must minimize all spending, cut down mobile data plan, eat at community hawker centre and when sick go to see the doctor ONLY at polyclinic. That way our dollar can stretch longer. For those who turn 55 and jobless and not enough in CPF for minimum sum and can only get $5,000 they better quickly approach their MP for help.

Is high % related to citizens' well being, or is it Pinky's personal report card?
