Their intruded ships - only serve to "irritate us" as it come into our Territorial Water --- but no impact on our ports activities.
In fact, it will obstruct their own port activites.
If there are accidents in that area --- vessels plying the Straits alongTanjung Pelepas will be impacted - and will affect all their ports activites --- 10.5 TEUs -- slightly less than half of all their port activities.
So Singaporeans --- don't get agitated, don't get slighted, don't lose your cool and react with anger.
Unite behind our Government as we handle the negotiation.
The longer they cause dispute in that area --- the more will impact them than us ---- of course we are not happy about their intrusion into our Territorial Water which is our Sovereignty.

Good one! I like your reasoning! Thanks for sharing :)
PS: The Malaysian Govt, with all their fake degrees are simply too dense to realise the negative impact on their own port. Let them dig their own grave then :)

Trader Jim - The ships going to Tanjung Pelepas port of call will be wary, worried (there will be delay in cargo shipment and additional cost such as compensation and many other factors that will deter shipping for business) and the shipping insurance going to their ports will go up - because of the real incidents and perceived incidents - due to unauthorised "naval invasion".
Which ships will go to a port - that keep looking for trouble --- the ships will avoid Tanjung Pelepas and switch to our ports.
They are shooting themselves on their own feet or Chinese proverb call 拿起石头砸自己的脚。
This accident clearly illustrate this.

(1) Seletar Airport ILS airspace issue
Ricky Lim
So if Seletar airport don't operate :-
(1) Malaysia Firefly will lose RM$20 million per month.
(2) Malaysia Berjaya Air will lose RM$20 million per month.
(3) Malaysia Malindo Air will lose RM$20 million per month.
So if delay until Mar 31 - Malaysia Firefly, Berjaya Air, Malindo Air will have lose 4 month (4 month x RM$60 million per month = $240 million for 4 month).
So if delay until May 31 - Malaysia Firefly, Berjaya Air, Malindo Air will have lose 6 month (6 month x RM$60 million per month = $360 million for 6 month).

We give you up to May 31 to negotiate and settle the airspace.
Your dr M say, May 31 too long --- want to settle by Mar 31.
You see Malaysia more scared or Singapore more scared?
Our Seletar Aerospace Park that house the Seletar Airport - is not a "white elephant" === because we have at least 60 MNCs and big and small local aerospace companies congregating there and make Seletar a regional air hub - comprising reputable Aerospace MNCs like Rolls Royce, Bombardier, Bell Helicopter, Eurocopter, MAJ Aviation, Pratt & Whitney, Jet Aviation, Hawker Pacific, Fokker, and our big local Aerospace companies like ST Aerospace, ST-Airport Services, Air Transport Training College, Business Aviation Complex, Component Manufacturing & MRO facility among others ==== employing 6,000 aerospace professionals.
All these are done without relying the Malaysia airspace ---- because we have airspace that stretch all the way to South-China Sea --- at least 3 times the size of Malaysia airspace.

(2) Vessels invasion to Singapore Territorial Water
- Five major global shipping firms ditched Malaysia ports for Singapore ports in April as a result of an-industry wide shakeup.
Now you see the M evilness - backfire.

This old man think that he disrupt our Seletar airport and our Port Limit - he can disrupt our Economy.
He can only merely tickle us, irritate us ----- but what we deliver to him - is massive Economic whammy.
This is more superior than sinking their vessels - or blow them up with missiles or torpedos.

Is there a mental block here somewhere?? Malaysian side is saying the location is Malaysian territorial sea, and Singapore is saying it is Singapore's waters. We had previously given the Malaysian side the necessary warning notice to leave the location, but they refuse to budge, and I do not foresee them leaving. So, what then is the purpose of reiterating our demand to them? Is there a Plan B to deal with the situation, as I expect our repeated demand to fall on deaf ears. Frankly, I wonder what is the purpose of ASEAN, if we cannot even sit down to resolve issues, of territorial waters, water rates, air pollution, etc. If the only solution is to defend our sovereignty, then do it, before another calamity, of greater magnitude befall us.

I think there's another negotiation somewhere, which will take 2 months.
2 months!!

MFA, you can keep on repeating but it is not going to happen. It is time for action, using this accident to your advantage and get these Malaysian vessel out of our waters for good citing safety as the main reason and to prevent any reoccurrence of smiliar accident in the future.
Mich Chan
I think to MFA repeating is the so-called "peaceful" means. No costs and manpower needed, just words

Malaysia is just like the USA, a big bully. It will never withdraw its vessels unless we use force to chase them out. But as close and friendly neighbour for so long, the use of force is not an option. The only solution is to bring the matter up to the International Court of Justice just like the case that involved Pedra Branca years ago.

IMHO, any unauthorised vessels in Singapore waters should be given a warning to leave, and if they don't , our police Coast Guard should board them, arrest and prosecute the crew as illegal entrants. The ship seized and sold.

Mahathir’s intentions is to destroy Singapore prosperous and development. Unethically plotting evil tactics against Singapore in order indirectly helping for his questionable huge wealth multiple billionaire sons who's have big investment in shipping and ports operation businesses in all Malaysia ports.
Mahathir all along has been not happy with Singapore fast development and jealousy of singapore becames world first class nation despite zero natural resources compared to Malaysia plentiful various of natural resources and tourism places of advantages.
If Mahathir made good uses of his crafty sharp minded and tactics to build and development Malaysia in a diplomacy bilateral manners, it would be perhaps better than Singapore today based on it's natural resources and his energetic efforts and intelligence.
But unfortunately, Mahathir chosen the wrong path and wrong attitudes to governing Malaysia that led to what's is today 3rd world non ICERD Malaysia.
It is a pity also a loss to all Malaysians particularly the non Muslim minorities where they have a sense of being treated 2nd class citizenship.

He's always piss when it comes to sG.. hard to change old man mindset..
The worst thing we can do is fail into his trap of making that offensive move. Gives him reason to escalate the situation in his advantage

Otherwise he will never stop bullying us hoping to gain popularity with his new government. Old senile man talked without common sense. If Malaysia intrudes one inch into Singapore Territorial Waters, the next moment they will intrude another yard. Our government should put a full stop to their endless flirtation of asking for an yard after obtaining an inch.

I am disappointed with how SG has dealt with this case of bullying so far. Are we really nothing but a toothless paper tiger? :(

Consider the alternative which many people are discussing.. strong arm the waters and send planes and war ships and or arrest malaysia vessels to show SG means "biz".. 3 months later what do you have?.. citizen army on high alert.. everybody mobilized ,economy on hold.. negative growth.
Malaysia send their warships demanding we release their vessels.. Sg biz in Malaysia gets arrested.. Malaysians in sg gets kick out etc etc..
And for what? And old 93 ur old guy who's piss with his ego on SG?? Is it worth it?? ...
SG govt has dealt with this type of malaysia for decades.
Just let diplomatics staff this bs out..
No offense but I don't think M going to be PM for too long .

Singapore govt purchased sofisticated naval vessels and newly purchased army equipment to kill wild boars on pulau ubin? Why not use them against mudder fkers in our territorial waters if they want to have shit brains.

Its Malaysian waters..pity the island..😅😅😅

Ajoiy, I pity the malaysians, always losing against the ' island '. Be it economically or infact everything. This island hv got nothing since She was kick out of malaysia. Without having anything, the island became one of the richest island of the world. So much so that She can even feed thousands of malaysians by giving them jobs here.

This is getting serious and our government must not allow the Malaysian authorities to arrest the captain and ship when such an incident occured in our waters. The international shipping community will be puzzled which will affect our lifeline. It's time to take some serious actions to ensure that our territorial waters are respected, secured and free for all to use. Some firm steps must be taken sooner than later to get rid of those who are illegally parking their vessels in our waters under whatever dubious arguments that they may have. Yes, we may lost alot against our intruders in the process, but we will not lose ALL. We have the ability, people, technology and hardware to recover faster with greater confidence, unity, security, and a better future for generations. Let us remember what we have learnt from our schooldays "Should diplomacy fails, deterrence should take its natural course of action". We are no longer in the cold but grey zone. Act fast, be decisive to ensure our little red dot will not be washed into the backyards of history.
Vincent Lee
After repeated calls by our foreign ministry to our Malaysian counterparts fallen on deaf ears. It's time we activate our navy. Obviously they have been taking our kindness as weakness.
