Benjamin Pwee quits DPP for 'bigger' party with 'recognisable and credible senior leader'
Read more at https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/benjamin-pwee-quits-dpp-for-bigger-party-11213940

 (Updated: )

(1) What platform will this "bigger party" contesting on?
Is it "unhappy" with the ruling party - platform is "vote opposition if you are unhappy with the ruling party, but we cannot govern the Country - it is a basket for discontented voters only" - but cannot rule, or don't know how to rule.

(2) If this Oppie party has a platform - then tell the voters :-
- how do you intend to govern Singapore - and do better than the ruling party? Without being a copy cat - because a poor copy cat - without understanding of the underlying foundation - will sink the Country.
- how do you attract investment, make our business competitive, create jobs, make Singapore not only survive but thrive for many decades and centuries to come.

(3) Currently, Singapore is facing security challenges - how do this Oppie party ensure Singapore will able to face up the security challenges unscath.

(4) Are there any "Minister" quality in this Opposition party - able to helm a Ministry and its associate Statutory Boards and Organ of State?
- eg. Ministry of Finance,
Ministry of Trade, IE Singapore, EDB etc.
Ministry of Education,
Ministry of Health,
Ministry of Defense,
Ministry of Home Affairs,
Ministry of Environment,
Ministry of Manpower,
Ministry of Communication etc

Some people commented that our CPF are gone.
Some people say that our Sovereign Fund lose money.
These are all rumours and fake news - spread to create fear.

Our CPF in total are not only intact, but grow in value years after years - with healthy interest rate of 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6% interest.
Our total CPF = S$384 billion are guaranteed by Singapore Government with good investment strategy helping it to grow.

Our Soveriegn Fund - unoffical estimate from a small S$300 billion --- has grown into more than S$1 trillion.
LikeReply1m
If this so call Oppie Party - got to govern without knowing how --- then a high risk our CPF and Sovereign Fund reserve will be gone - and Singaporeans will indeed be in deep shit.
LikeReply1m

The CPF retirement payout are as follow :-
(1) If set aside $161,000 in CPF retirement account - the final total payout is $317,000.
(2) If set aside $80,500 in CPF retirement account - the final total payout is $171,000.
(3) If set aside $40,000 in CPF retirement account - the final total payout is $106,000.

This is similar to insurance gratuity - where Singaporeans not only earn 4, 5 ,6% yearly interest in the CPF retirement account, they will also receive a sizable final total payout much more than they put in.

So it is indeed a big nonsense that CPF is gone and depreciate in values.

In fact our CPF retirement account grow in values year after year.

Those who spread rumours about CPF is gone - is spreading fake news and false news - designed to create fear.

Hey it's you again with your 'unofficial' figures! We're so scared of your figures! Where's your 1.3 million army?

That day see u pasting sh!t again. If china per capita income = 30% of US, 50%, 60%.... like a secondary school student extending a graph beyond a graph. Why don't you just say 200% lol? As if their income can keep increasing forever. Never even think why china can have so many factories in the first place.

Ricky and his trustworthy figures lol. Save the pastings man, just write 'My PM Lee is God' can already! That's the Ricky we know.

PS: so where's your 1.3m army? Hiding in some bunkers, underground sewerage or sharing Punggol-Woodlands dormitories with India construction FT? 😂😂😂

Official source www(dot)gov(dot)sg :- Singapore has more than 1 million troop

Speech by Mr Ong Ye Kung Second Minister for Defence Committee of Supply Debate 2018
02 MAR 2018
Since 1967, more than one million Singaporeans have invested their time, blood, sweat and tears, in faithfully performing their NS duties.

Official Source :- Singapore Armed Forces (wikipedia)
Active personnel 72,000 (incl. 46,800 conscripts)
Reserve personnel 1,386,000+ (2016 est.)

Official Source :- Singapore Army (wikipedia)
Type Army
Size 72,000 (active, including 35,000 conscripts)
950,000+ (reserve)

Non-Mindef source :-
GlobalFirepower

(NS to NSmen - 40 years and below)
AVAILABLE MANPOWER: 1,260,000
FIT-FOR-SERVICE: 2,110,000 (man, woman sign on, volunteer, PR sons)
TOTAL MILITARY PERSONNEL: 504,500
ACTIVE PERSONNEL: 72,000
RESERVE PERSONNEL: 432,500

Decommissioned NS personnel (52 years to 40 years old)
- Out of reservist cycle about 500,000 - but can be reactivated for service.

Above 52 years - but trained in NS and military assets
- about 300,000

Total = 504,500 + 500,000 + 300,000 = 1.3 million troops

(The actual statistics, the breakdown of troops, how they are deployed --- are secret) --- hence the 1.3 million is always consider "unofficial source".

If classified as "official source" and make public --- then it is a breach of Official Secret Act (OSA) and a breach of National Security.

Now "Sparrow" - you happy?

Total CPF = S$384 billion (source :- www(dot)cpf(dot)gov(dot)sg

Sovereign Fund breakdown (official source):-
- Temasek Holding = S$308 billion (2018) - published account
- MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore) = US$273.1 billion or S$382.34 billion (2018) - published account

(Unofficial source) - due to strategic reasons to defend Singapore currencies and financial
stability (to prevent speculative attack or foreign intervention to sink Singapore Economy - the official figures is a "Secret")

- GIC (Government Investment Companies) = exceed S$400 billion (traditionally, GIC is the mother company of Temasek Holding - who provide the seed fund to Temasek Holding for investment --- and its capital is much more than Temasek Holdings --- thus exceed S$400 billion assets ---- is a conservative figure) ---- unofficial source

Summary :-
= S$308 billion + S$382.34 billion + exceed S$400 billion assets = exceed S$1.09 trillion

(After note :- GIC (wikipedia Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute estimates) = US$359 billion or S$502.6 billion)
Summary :-
= S$308 billion + S$382.34 billion + S$502.6 billion = S$1.19294 trillion

Now "Sparrow" - you happy?

Luigi Liew - building up our assets and reserve -- take alot of brainpower, prudence, hardworking, resoucefulness and wisdom of many good people.

But if let a "bunch of clown" to manage - it will vanish overnight -- and Singapore will be doom.
We will see "enemy" riding their vessels, tanks and army - invade us overnight --- and Singaporeans will go back to WW2 times --- invaded, torture, rape, chop heads, machine gun by our "enemy".

Ya - want to build from scratch ? --- as good as committing suicide.

You want the Oppie party - to squander away all your CPF?
The Oppie party --- will bring Singapore back into the WW2 sorrow state.

Luigi Liew - Singapore now is the 3rd richest Country in the World - aren't we doing well?

In case you ask for statistics :-
- Singapore - $90,531 per annum (per capita GDP - PPP)
(2 graduates family with combined income of $7,544 per month or $3,772 each or 2 poly graduates family with 3 years working experience will have achieved this) - after Luxemborg and Qatar - richer than US, Japan, EU, China etc.
(The median gross monthly income among Singaporeans and permanent residents who were employed full-time was S$4,437 this year, including employer contributions to the Central Provident Fund.)
- more than 90% house ownership (one of the highest in the World)
- Unemployment Rate in Singapore = 2.20% (one of the lowest in the World)

- Government transfer (2018) :-
(1) There are 1,289,900 household in Singapore
(2) 5.8% are 1 to 2 room flat = 74,814 household.

(3) 1 to 2 room flat receive S$10,245 per household x 74,814 household = $766,471,479 benefits.
(4) 1,215,086 household received S$4,433 per household = $5,386,476,238 benefits

In total = $6.152 billion are given as benefit per year to Singaporeans.

So basically only 25,200 are real soliders, (72,000 - 46,800), the rest are just partly trained part timers more likely to get themselves killed in a SSPH than killing the enemies.

(1) S Korea - all part-time conscript
(2) Israel - majority are part-time conscript ---- but they perform very well in real war.
(3) Taiwan - used to be all part-time conscript - the moment they convert to full-time soldiers - not able to fill up the strength and defense budget for soldier salary increase dramatically --- now army not consider operational ready - under strength.
(4) Switzerland - all part-time conscript

(5) Norway - all part-time conscript
(6) Finland - all part-time conscript

If you want Singapore to be a full time soldier :-
(1) A professional army - assume salary $5,000 a month - will have cost the Government S$78 billion a year for a 1.3 million standing army on salary only = Soldier salary almost cost total Government budget in 2018.

(2) Even for half a million troop (not counting standdown) - will cost S$30.3 billion per year in salary - about 40% of the whole Government budget for a professional army - can we sustain a regular army?

After note :- PDF (People Defense Force) - can be beef up during civil emergency and crisis situation (and this can be drawn from 52 years and above standdown troop - as Volunteer). This is a situation during a major crisis like full-blown war (where 1.3 million troops will be mobilised - where all reservist that drop out of reservist cycle will be recalled).

(After personnel complete their regular service, the IDF (Israel Defense Force) may call up men for:
reserve service of up to one month annually, until the age of 40–45 (reservists may volunteer after this age) - perform the role of People Defense Force).

Alvin Leong he has learnt The Art of Selective Reporting from his paymaster very well. Just a simple one example: why must he emphasize Israel conscripts perform very well? Which is a fallacy in itself, an own-goal, selectively ignoring the other side of the coin: there must be places where conscripts perform badly. He will report whatever that puts his paymaster in good light, further justifying their claim that we need conscripts badly. Why only list countries that use conscripts?

Lol 3rd richest COUNTRY (per capita). COUNTRY with highest cellphone penetration rate (yea we're soooo technogically advanced thanks to PAP) But not the most expensive CITY to live in ("70%, we're not so bad after all, thanks to voting correctly for us!"). Not the most crowded CITY (when it comes to quelling immigration dissent).

It is always good to have at least a credible opposition to provide an alternative and make GE meaningful. We had two previously but both didn't turn out well.

We also have many people who want oppositions just for the sake of opposition and for the wrong reasons / conspiracy theories they can think of, whether logical or not.

I am no particular fan of conspiracy theory but I also can think of one just for the fun of it. Maybe all excitment about the clashes of the Lee siblings, the meeting with TCB, the new PSP etc are just one big wayang planned and orchestrate by the PAP, just like some said CST and CSJ were planted :-)

Whichever country we're borne or belong to, what is utmost important and crucial to ordinary countrymen is to have sincere and efficient leaders whose utmost duty is to take care of his/her own countrymen.

Despite having huge land mass and abundant natural resources, there are many countries whose ordinary people are still suffering as they have leaders who are just "political opportunist" taking care of their own personal agenda and cronies and like to create emotion during election campaign to score political points. When face with difficult issues, instead of head on with solutions, these insincere leaders / opportunists and their cronies (mostly had benefited to become rich) will just pack up and go and leave behind ordinary people to continue suffering.

As ordinary people, we must be wary not to fall into those "political opportunist"s trap" as they are very good to arouse emotion using "destructive hammer" to hit our own feet instead of using "constructive one" to provide constructive solutions to solve challenging issues. Some may even have the cheeks to "rob their own residents in broad daylight".
