Trying not to be bad-hearted - but can't help to say this is the old hat's karma --- for failing to honor the water agreement and for violating our Territorial Water.

Karma is always just.

Do evil reap bad karma.
Do good reap good karma.

If human law cannot punish the old hat, heavenly law will punish the old hat.
If heavenly law can't punish the old hat, Universal Law will punish the old hat.

As a record, this is what the old hat Dr M did to us :-

(1) Threaten to cut our water supply and let us die of thirst - that nearly lead us to take military action against him - and he did not carry out the threat.

(2) He once said - he rather let the water flow into the drain - instead of selling us his water.

(3) When we 1st produced our Newater - he said that we are drinking "urine and shit water" - and he laugh loudly with all his followers around him.

(4) Now he want to create problem for us by saying the water he sell to us is too cheap and want to raise the price.
(Note :- any revision to the water agreement - has an impact on our Separation Agreement 1962 - that could impact our Sovereignty, our Existence and our Independence) ---

Hence our legal people need to handle it with extreme care not to fall into this old hat's trap --- who has evil intention - and who is out to harm us.

That is why the bad karma that befall on this old hat - is very heavy.

This is the actual computation of water prices :-

Ricky Lim

The below is actual cost from official source :-
(1) Cost of rain water to Malaysia = RM 0 sen
(2) Malaysia charges Singapore for rain water = RM 3 sen
(3) Singapore cost of treating water = RM$2.40 sen (per 1000 gallons).
(4) Singapore charge Malaysia only = RM$0.50 sen (per 1000 gallons).
(5) Malaysia sells the water to Malaysia consumers = RM$3.60 sen (per 1000 gallons).
(6) Singapore directly subsidises to Malaysia = RM$1.90 sen (per 1000 gallons).

Malaysia does nothing and make = RM$3.10 sen (per 1000 gallons).

Is M'sia's federal govt themselves going to offer any assistance or taking any concrete action to resolve their own "water issues" or are they still waiting for S'pore to again render our sincere & humane assistance to provide them additional treated "S'pore shit water" (as claimed by some M'sians) ?
Is is worthwhile for S'pore to still continue helping M'sia when they just continue to disrupt our peace & prosperity with those unnecessary and very unreasonable "territorial disputes" despite all our sincere effort and "goodwill gestures" to help them ?
All our "goodwill gestures" seem to be unnoticed by those "heartless or merciless" leaders in the north hence don't see any point now to show any "goodwill" to them ? By now we should know that they always take advantage of kindness & goodwill.
Obviously M'sia's leaders only target S'pore but dare not utter a single word with bigger nations like Indonesia or Thailand despite having so long boundaries with them ? Double standards ?

Singapore is supplying treated water to Johore at 50 sen per 1,000 gal for last 50 years. Can't even buy a packet of nasi lemak at 50 sen.... is this fair to prata man?

Tan Ke Huat - Please don't forget that they have the raw water for free from Mother Nature, they did not produce it..... if they don't sell it to us it will just flow out to the sea !

Tan Ke Huat, what do you mean by "...is this fair to prata man" ? You mean until now you still don't know the treatment cost of MR2.40 but S'pore is subsidising MR1.90 to sell back at 50 sen which is what we mean by out of "goodwill gesture", humanity, kndness. etc ?
Please touch your own heart first before you ask who is fair ? Hope you don't become one of those "heartless, merciless, crude & lawless" people. Let's be civilised, it's 21st century now !

Rest assured Johoreans. Spore will continue to provide treated water in accordance with the 1961/1962 Water Agreements. We will even increase the water supply to Johore if need be.

At the same time, we will not take advantage of your situation to ask for a higher selling price to you of treated water, reduce supply to you of treated water, lower selling selling price to us of untreated water and higher supply to us of untreated water.

You see, unlike your prime minister and some members of your government, we stand by our agreements as always.

Singapore cannot ask for highier selling price of treted water, else Malaysia can ask for highier selling price of raw water.

Malaysia can stop buying treated water from Singapore if price is too high. Dont say cannot be done as Klang Valley and Penang which are very crowded has sufficient supply also.

If Singapore stop buying and only depend on desalination and recycle water, the water cost sure shoot up signifcantly.

At the end sure Singapore loose more.

Kok Chee Seong - Just to let you know that the whole of Malaysia are facing drought - as rivers, reservoirs are dependent on rainfall.

With global climatic changes, weather become more and more unpredictable - and drinkable water for your treatment plants will become less and less.

In fact many rivers and reservoirs all over the World are increasingly drying up due to the Global climatic change.

Let you know - and just be mindful of that.

Malaysia has no technology, no money and will be too expensive to build newater and desalination plants as your population are too widely dispersed. 1 newater plant or 1 desalination plant will cost more than billions of Singapore dollars to build.
Malaysia land are too big - and this mean the cost will be exponential as the pipes to reach the home will be too exorbitant - given that malaysia don't have a good water recycling system.

As for water price in Singapore - you don't have to worry - because we are already paying the water price peg at the newater and desalination plants.

In fact, the old hat may not realise that Malaysia water crisis may soon reach an emergency stage and too late to reverse.

One day (which I believe will not be too long) - Malaysia will be begging Singapore to sell them newater (shit and urine water) and desalination plant water soon -- in fact Johor is requesting more than agreement amount of treated water in many occasion as the johor rivers and reservoirs are increasingly drying up.

Yet your old hat still ya-ya - want to make life difficult for us.

This old hat probably don't understand why Johor Crown Prince want to be friend with us beyond 100 years.
Precisely because he know that Malaysia will not be able to process drinking water soon - and will rely heavily on Singapore to provide them Newater and Desalination water.
In addition, Johor will be heavily dependent on trade, tourism and investment for Johor to thrive.

(1) Tourism - we contribute RM$50 billion a year
(2) Investment - we contribute RM$78 billion
(3) Trade - we contribute RM$127 billion in their export.

The old hat try to fight us in every way - but without knowing who and what he is up against - still crowded by his old thinking about us - that he have many leverages against us.
But we have move up and above in practically all dimensions - and now we have many leverages against this old hat.

Kok Chee Seong You are right. Singapore cannot ask for higher price of treated water because there is already an agreement on the price of treated water. Similarly, Mahathir cannot ask for higher price of raw water because there is already an agreement on the price of raw water.

So why is Mahathir still insisting on selling us raw water at a higher price?

Also, if tomorrow, Singapore decides to switch 100% to more expensive Newater and desalination for our own consumption, Singapore will nevertheless continue to supply treated water to Johore because we still have to comply with the Water Agreements.

So contrary to the fairy tale spun by Mahathir to Msians, the Water Agreements were never one-sided to the benefit of Singapore.

But thats ok because Singapore always stand by its agreements.

Just remember that point, the next time Mahathir wants to tear up the Water Agreements and charge a higher price for raw water to Singapore.

Not easy to say raise water price because SG will do the same. Unless Mad Dog can produce clean water for their people and not buy back from SG clean water (some shit water too) then he can talk big. Just talk and leave him alone nothing will happen. Throughout his role as PM he has not won a fight with SG so he will still do it underground. He will rise from his coffin/grave to fight SG as someone has said that too.

Georgie Tan, you're right and this is why the vintage Old M continues his "dirty plot" to inject his "Poisonous DNA" into all his current ministers / political leaders including Anwar to mention recently : "...Same strategy reagrding S'pore".
When dealing with much bigger Asean nations like Indonesia and Thailand, the cunning Old M use words or phrases like "...Asean spirit, brotherhood, etc" to be friendly to them while with S'pore, not even "neighbourhood spirit" as our nearest neighbour but only to disrupt our survival ?
How to deal with this kind of "merciless & cunning leader" or we may have no choice but just have to wait till he is "received by HELL" (perished) for all those evil and wicked things he had done in his "vintage life" to others and his own people and see what happens next ?

It is easier to have own treatment plant. Thruogh out Malaysia still have its own treatment plant that provide sufficient treated water, in paticularly in very crowded Klang Valley and Penang. The reason of not doing so is easier to let Singapore manage it and Singapore does in return get the water.

Dont ever think Singapore is so superior. Malaysia does can survive without Singapore, but every squeze from Malaysia will make Singapore life much harder despite wont cripple Singapore also.

Kok Chee Seong - You say "Every squeeze will make our life harder."
You say "Dont ever think Singapore is so superior." ---

Now you better make it clear ---- It is your old hat that is picking a fight the moment he ascend his throne by violating our Sovereignty by intruding into our Territorial Water, want to revise our water agreement, ban some fish and eggs and many hostile and evil actions against us - despite we display friendliness.

Now you better hear what your old hat say :-

"Mahathir said that Singapore “may be small”, but it was more powerful than Malaysia. He said that he did not
see war as “a means to settle conflicts”.
He said that he’d rather sit down to negotiate, even though there may be no result, than go to war."

Just let you know that your old hat is not only "playing with fire" - he is in fact "playing with a bomb" - and he don't even know when or how it will explode.

If he cross our red line - we will let our actions do the talking - don't under-estimate our resolve and our anger against your old hat.

Our anger is growing day by day.

Pher Kim Huat - This whole water issue and many other issues that the old hat bring up and impose on us - demonstrate that this old hat hate us to the core and want to make life difficult for us in whatever way.

If we read up the history of this old hat since 1965 - he has many axe to grind against us - despite the fact that we provide medical degree to him when he study in our University. He don't show any kind of gratitude towards us.

It is very difficult for Singapore to have good bi-lateral relationship with Malaysia - as long as this old hat is at the helm.

He hate us to the core --- and we need to guard against him - because his every move is design to harm us.

But we will respond correspondingly - to his every move and stay on guard every time.

Singpaore is always friendly with every Countries and with all our neighbors - and always aspire for Win-Win outcome.

But when this old hat take advantage of us and bully us - treating our friendliness and kindness as weakness - we will have to stand up against him - and respond correspondingly to his every move.

Ricky Lim, fully agreed with your valid comments.
With our friendly diplomacy and all the humane assistance we rendered so far to help our neighbours when they encounter disasters like tsunami in Indonesia & Thailand, trust we've won many like-minded upright friends and respect all over the world.
Upright people and their nations will appreciate our good deeds to support us with great sense of justice except our nearest neighbour under the cunning vintage Old M who always want to see our downfall.
Believe at his 94 years old feeble vintage age, he'll definitely "fall very soon" and like you said before "karma" will fall on him as well as those "evil & wicked" politicians in M'sia to send them to hell shortly.
As the saying goes : "xie bu sen zhen" (i.e. evil and wicked cannot beat upright" or "er yew er bau, san yew san bau" (i.e evil will have evil response, kindness will have kind response".
Fortunately this world still have more upright and kind people around otherwise .....

Pher Kim Huat - We will have to wait for this old hat to leave the scene - and hopefully sanity up north will be restored - before we can resume good bi-lateral relationship with them.

We don't aspire confrontational competition, we actually prefer Win-Win mutual beneficial relationship.

But I guess we got to wait and see.

Kok Chee Seong, you seem to be a M'sian or "fake S'porean" who either "blindly support" the unreasonable Old Man or had been intoxicated with his "Poisonous DNA" ?
Our Mr Ricky Lim had explicitly explained to you the whole situation of this water issue yet you still think that S'pore is trying to act "superior" instead of realising that S'pore had done our utmost to be the "best neighbour" despite all those nonsense from the north.
As a matter of fact it's M'sia who is using its size and free water from the sky to act superior to impact our survival ?
Please be reasonable and don't blindly follow the cunning old man's "snaky & poisonous" path or fall into his "dirty trap" to ignore all our goodwill gestures.
