When asked how the ongoing aviation and maritime tensions with Malaysia will affect the air industry, PM Lee said: "Our issues with Malaysia, we will discuss with them.
"We will work very hard to make sure we enable Changi to continue to be able to operate smoothly, and the Malaysians also, to have their airports operating smoothly, and traffic can flow throughout the region."
---
Worst come to worst if there are problem with Malaysia airspace - we can switch all air flight to Singapore FIR airspace.

It is the mutual interest of both Singapore and Malaysia to ensure resolving the current airspace issue amicably.

Someone mention - it is good for the siblings (LHY) to attack the brother (PM) and the system (Governance Administration).

I have got this to say :-
(1) Do not work against the system or fight the system or attack the system - where it meant to benefit the people.
(2) Work with the system, as the system will help you. Though for some, it may not be immediate - but the system will do so when the timing is right, the condition is right.

When people attack the system or work against the system - the system's defense system to ward off the attack ---- because Administration will not allow itself to be destroy or damage - and hurt all Singaporeans.

The system is meant to benefit all Singaporeans most of the time if not all the time - but sometimes due to circumstances change :-
(1) eg. disruptive tech - that displace business and jobs
(2) eg. unexpected or unanticipated competition - that displace business and jobs
(3) eg. change in needs or requirements - that displace business and jobs

--- then some people may get hurt.

While the systems will need time to re-configure, re-calibrate to resolve or mitigate the circumstances change that hurt some people.

Thus important for people to :-
(1) work with the system
(2) seek help from the system - when something hurts them - eg. displace their business or jobs.
(3) work closely with the system - to get help and final resolution -- that means people need to have patience, preserverance, determination, endurance.

Systems are there to help all Singaporeans - not hurt Singaporeans.

If some people when get hurt - instead of working with the system to recover - fight the system and hurt the rest of the people depending on it ----- then the system's defense system will turn on to ward off the attack.

System is made up of the "collective wisdom" of many people - who contribute to the system.
It is not the work of just one person.

Thus those people who are affected (whether losing their business or jobs) - should adapt and make adjustment - to re-configure, re-adjust and re-calibrate as the systems re-configure and re-calibrate to resolve the problem by working with the people in the system (not fight or work against it).

Eventually those affected people who are able to do so with patience, understanding and preserverance - will emerge from their difficulties and become better.

Fighting against the system - will not resolve their problem - but instead sink faster - as these affected people refuse help from the system - and make their circumstances become worst.

Dear Bro, you give good, logical and often well based comments. But on this ruling government and the members, I must fully disagree. Except for the 1G leaders, it has been a sad story for Singapore which has led to today's state of apathy. I am from the so called Mederka generation. Saw thru it all. I am sad , disillusioned and look for change.
We, Singaporeans (true breed ones) have always done what you commented but the response from the other side has been appalling. That is why the citizenry has been growing this air of discontent.

Luigi Liew -
Dear Bro, many people will undergo a life (career, business or other aspect of lives) - up and down through their lifetimes - due to economic condition changes, tech disruption, competition disruption etc.

(1) It happen not only in Singapore - it happen all over the World - even China is facing pressure currently - being one of the fastest growing Economy.
That is why you see there are upheaval globally - where you see many Government changing hands - like changing clothes.
But does it solve their problem? The answer is it make it worst.

(2) Singapore economic condition, tech disrupt, intense competition - is similarly not spare --- but Singapore manage to mitigate and lessen the impact - as compare to the World --- by coming out with ITM (Industry Transformation Map), Skillsfuture, Central Job Portal, Career Coach etc --- to help Singaporeans to get themselves train up to date and get jobs.
More than 70% who get such help with e2i, WSG, NTUC etc --- secure jobs within 6 months.

(3) Many top notch people - also get disrupted throughout their career lives - not only ordinary Singaporeans
eg. (a) Ministers like Lim Swee Say, Yacoob, Lim Hng Khiang etc - release themselves for younger Ministers.
(b) Ex-Ministers like George Yeo, Lim Hwee Hua etc - lose the election and now they find themselves jobs in private sectors.
(c) Many ex-Generals like Desmond Quek, plus many others - move from Chief of Defense Force, Chief of Army etc to join GLCs like SMRT, and other companies - and then find jobs in private sectors on their own accord.
(d) Top notch people like Tan Cheng Bock - as private doctor, become MP - now want to form a political group. Lee Hsien Yang - Singtel CEO, join private sector, then become chairman of CAAS and now not working.

(4) Similarly, many civil servants, people in GLCs, also move in and out to join private sector, some also lose jobs and then seek help from WSG, e2i and NTUC and found jobs.

Thus Singaporeans must get use to such adaptation and adjust their lives - to get going --- because the Global Economic climate has change tremendously due to Industralisation 4.0 that disrupt people's business and career.

(5) In the SG1 leadership --- it is totally a different story altogether. Singapore practically has nothing - and start from scratch.
Thus it is easy to get jobs and do business when Mr LKY and PAP get everything right.
Developing Economies - always bring about high growth and that will bring more business and more jobs --- that is why you see 6% growth and above is a norm.

But Singapore now is at Developed stage and is not possible to achieve such a high growth - 1 to 3% growth is already a good growth.

Thus advice is --- work closely with the system to help us -- WSG, e2i, NTUC etc if we need a job --- they will be able to help us --- in fact many people have benefited.

No other political party can do a better job - even though we are facing some difficulties now ---- but the Government is already getting things on the right track.

The only constant is change - under Universal Law of Impermanence.
And we need to change and adapt - at some point in our career - when economic condition change.
I have met many people who have change their career or business - at least once or a few times - and they emerge better.

The key is "Be adaptable and accept the fact - "Adjust" when need to do so" - Seek help to help ourselves and be patient while waiting for the outcome.

The Government in order to keep the system current and competitve - have no choice but got to re-calibrate and change - and as a result - affect some people.

The
Government after keeping the system alive by changing - will in the next step - help people affected to change and adjust - so that they can keep their jobs or find new jobs for them.

(If the Government don't do so by changing the system to keep alive - the whole Country will sink --- and by stubbornly refuse to change to keep jobs --- will in fact be foolish).

Thus only keeping the system alive by re-adjusting, by keeping the Country survive and thrive - and later help people affected - will be the only way out.

Don't have the impression that or assume that - the Government is ignorant or oblivious to the fact that some people are sole breadwinner or some people or losing jobs that will affect their livelihood or the whole family livelihood.

They are working their guts out to :-
(1) Get the whole system correct and the business system correct
(2) Help affected people to get good jobs, get themselves train to get the right jobs.

But people have to work with them to help ourselves.

Most important be patience, have endurance, seek the right help, have preserverance and determination - and work closely with them, and have the right attitude - so that they can help ourselves.
Finally good outcome will come if we do so - I have seen many such examples.

Initially, the success rate of the taskforce programme such as the WSG, e2i, NTUC - skillfuture, career coach, career conversion, train and placement etc - is quite low.

Eg. about 20% - then increase to 30% --- and then improve leap and bound to 70% in 2017 and in 2018 - improve 40% more out of the 70%.

The reason, initially the success rate is low - because all the zig saw are not in place yet, business have still not yet buy in, and workers are still not in the right psyche, or not the right skillsets or not yet train.

Now the success rate of the above programme are much higher - and has become one of the mainstream HR source for business looking for manpower.

Thus have faith with the system - and psychic ourselves with the right attitude and the right effort and seek the right help.

Many affected people will be able to get the help they want --- most important affected people must have faith with the system and the people operating the system - and work with them patiently.

Year after year the same old adverse reports.
Year after year the True Blue Singaporeans
continue to bite the bullets to work hard for
the country taking only 1 -2% wage increase
yearly.
In the end what has the ungrateful PAP gave
us.
Increase GST from 2% to 5% then to 7% and
soon to be 9%.
CPF withdrawal age increase from 55 to 65
and soon 67.
Retirement age from 55 to 62 to now 67.
Nothing but hardship.
Have they taken out a cent to help the citizens
who sacrifice so much for the country?
Do they really appreciate what the citizens had
done for them and the country ?
