 (Updated: )
Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad reiterated on Sunday (Dec 30) that he will abide by his promise to only serve as an interim prime minister, despite the calls for him to continue to hold the post until the next general election.
“I think Anwar feels comfortable that he will succeed me, maybe in two years, I don’t know ... I’m not going to be the prime minister until the next election,” he said.

Agreed.

Many foreigners investors have lost confidence and withdrawn from Malaysia, for example, major clients have shifted their operations from Malaysia Port Klang to Singapore Port due to their inefficiency, slack, backward culture & a divided Malaysia.

Dr Roti Prata Pinocchio nose is getting longer everyday as he continues to stab the back of those Parties and minorities, who help him won the GE14.

Once Anwar become PM, he and his sons will go to jail.

In addition, the Kings & Royal family, who detested and called him "Senile".

Dr. M knows...only the good die young.
By doing bad things...Dr M expects to live long.

He expects to have time to fix it...so that his son will take over as the PM this time.

I will only serve as interim PM. Notice that he "refuses" to say that Anwar will take over once he leaves! Or that he will honor his promise to abide by PH resolution to make Anwar the 8th PM after Mahathief!
So that later he can do another U-turn that he only said he will be interim PM and nothing else. He did not say Anwar to take over from him or be Malaysia's 8th PM!!! Even at 93, still recalcitrant, scheming and a liar!

Spot on Jm Chow. this "borrowed time man" forms Bersatu and make his son deputy president to take over him soon. All of his actions are going back to square one in MY's politics. Now PH = BN; Bersatu = Umno, DAP = MCA with those non-bumiputra ministers cleaning his dirty linens. Under his "old dirty tricks". the transport minister even unnecessarily raised airspace and maritime territorial issues to threaten us. As PM, please do more fair and reasonable things instead of repeating those biased policies to regain your power & influence for your own agenda and paving way for your son. Publicly he may looks changed but doesn't.

Great job, Dr M. Keep it up! You have done the impossible to say the least. You have to keep up what you had been endorsed and you have the right to decide until all the bad "rubbish" had been got rid off.
Its hard to be a legend in your own time, but as you had make your bed, prepare to lay on it for a long time. All the best!

“More important thing then was Najib. For that reason we have to sacrifice, I need to sacrifice and to accept the condition because the main thing is not to be prime minister but to bring down Najib,” he said.

He is making it clear that he felt compelled then to agree to this 2 year condition. It was not his idea.

You're right Paula Tan, real action is more important than rhetorics. However Dr M had already "acted" during his prime years between 1981 to 2003 but only to produce some leaders deemed to be not suitable by "his standard" that he had to do a comeback at this "tender old age of 93" ? It's not only unhealthy for his own health but also for the country to have no good successor after him for the youger generation without bias. As the saying goes : you sow your own seeds and harvest what you sow.

Yes, truly yes.. Mahathir admits that without PKR and DAP Chinese votes, PH govt could not be achieved solely depends on Bersatu or only with the Malays votes. Thus he has to abide to the coalition mutual agreement for its main core to bring down Najib and he (Mahathir) temporary "help" as interim pm if PH won the GE14 for two years whilst Anwar still in jail.
Two years time is more than enough for Anwar to refresh and re-energised himself in capable to take over PM job, moreover Anwar was not new, he was deputy PM to Mahathir before he was forced into jail for a recalcitrant unbelievable sodomy charge.

If Mahathir said today what is truly from his sincere heart that he will leave the PM post to Anwar in two years as promised agreement and honour with all the coalition parties, then we shall salute him as a good respectable honourable veteran politician for his main goal is to destroy Najib's corruption regime for the sake of the people and nation not for personal gains or sons interested, or to safeguard this and that. Right now, to save the country from downfall is the main duty of PH.

The question is.. is Mahathir speaks truly from his heart that his main goal is to bring down Najib and will keep his coalition agreement promises hand over the PM to Anwar or just merely "twists and turns or sticks to U-TURN habit.

All Malaysians are surely happy and delightful able to see "A fox willingly transform himself into a honourable powerful loyal dog".
We salute you once again for being a good respectful gentleman.

History has proved that even a signed agreement don't have to be honoured by this contumacious and ungrateful liar, why would one buy his word about keeping promises!?

I believed, 兔死狗烹 is more suited for his style as observed through the past decades. My condolences for those who still cling on to his words.
