"Hello, your NETS not working. No Ez Link yet. I didn't bring my mobile out. You wait? I go ATM and draw out the cash and then pay you over the cash register?"

If NETs breakdown, use credit or debit card paywave.
If both breakdown, use QR code mWallet.
If ATM breakdown, no cash.
If all breakdown, give cheque.

There are so many mode of payment.

Janice Chin - Then in this case, alot of restaurants, shopping centres, tours, car showrooms, jewelleries, golf course, computer shops, smartphone shops, watch shops etc all close shops if everyone use cash if you don't bring briefcase.

Singapore Economy if use your method - will be poorer by multiple fold if everyone use cash instead of cashless.

And the cost for Singapore to print cash, mint coin - manage, distribute, dispense, transport, security etc will be exponential.

Overall Singaporeans will enjoy a lower standard level of living - due to higher cost of printing cash, lower economic activities --- and Singaporeans will not boast of high income based on your proposition.

Any transactions above thousand dollars will not happen. And Singapore economy will be dead !

Alot of people will be out of jobs as business close.

This is what it means.

So people are so shortsighted and can't see far !

Ricky ah, cost of living has already gone up but our standard of living hasn't improved. Our local people can be out of jobs is most likely due to the jobs taken by cheaper labour issue, not the printed cash issue. I can see you're very pro cash LESS instead of cash, ....probably too many briefcase required? I don't know, I'm assuming your situation.

Janice Chin - precisely we go cashless that is why alot of business are still doing well.

Just go around and see people using debit card, credit card, nets, cheque, online cash transfer etc in their payment.

Many supermarket also use such modes of payment.

If everything use cash, Singapore will be in trouble by now.

NETS alone recorded S$23 billion in total transaction.
(Other cashless transaction such as debit card, credit card etc and other forms are not included here).

As you say, can you carry S$23 billion in cash to do transaction?

Cannot right - then do you think Singapore business without the S$23 billion economic activities - how many businesses will close shops and how many people will go out of jobs?

You all only see small small things, kiam kanna - and then make so much noise.

But cannot see the BIG PICTURE - that will have a big impact on the whole Economy.

Janice Chin - go to WDA Professional Conversion Programme - sign on for the course on Data Analytics.

You will learn all the techniques in trawling raw data, data conversion, tools to organise and structure data, perform data analysis - and you can use it as decision support system.

Or you can use mental computation in your mind to do all these.

Another thing that come to mind - democracy have an inherent flaw.

Because people will not know which candidates are suitable or possess the calibers as PM, President, Ministers or MPs.

People only use their "eyes" to see - I like this guys, I think he can be ---- become very dangerous.
Most of the time, people's eyes are shallow - and don't possess the Wisdom to know who has the real qualities.

That is why like Trump can be President - just by going the populist path --- and if this happen to Singapore ---- we will be a dead duck.

Janice Chin - 孺子可教也!

Many people don't have your 肚量 - and they start to scold, ridicule, irritate and do all sort of childish things.

People who can lower their ego - is a virtue.
