Universal Compassion means - Compassion is Universal and is universally apply to all Humanities.
(1) When we commented that smog is slowly taking the lives of China people, when we commented that polluted rivers is poisoning the China people, when we commented that corruption will have a "termite effect" that could cause impact to China economy and will have social and political impact --- our comments is Compassion at its heart and Compassion is Universal.
China lawmakers listen - and act on it though :-
“好话难听。
慈悲由心发。”
"Words that are meant to be good - is not pleasing to the ears.
But Compassion that is Universal - come from the Heart".
Only real friends speak words that meant to be good - though may not be pleasing to the ears.
(2) When we comment that US should ban gun - so that innocents, young in school can live and study safely - our Compassion in Universal.
The lawmakers can stop such massacre by banning gun.
But whether they listen or not - is another story.

There are many Singaporeans who are businessman, investors, who have relatives, who study in China, who are diplomats etc - living in China - breathing smog air, drinking polluted water etc.
There are many Singaporeans who are businessman, investors, who have relatives, who study in US who are diplomats etc - living in US - living in fear because people carry guns shooting innocents and young around.
Shouldn't we comment and prescribe antidote that will solve the problem - rather than accepting wrong medication that is not solving the problem?

If US lawmakers ban guns ---- mentally ill, terrorists, students, old, young, male, female etc will have no access to gun --- so no matter how psychopath or no matter how angry, no matter how mad - a person is ----- massacre via guns will not occur.
If go after someone who is deem mad, who is deem angry, who is deem psychopath, who is deem to be able to kill for fun, who is deem to would have kill after seeing violent video games, movies etc ----- than FBI will be totally overwhelm.
FBI will need to beef up 100 millions strong to track everyone.
And probably, possibly put people under house arrest or detention - who display the slightest hint of possible shooting anyone.
Also wonder why civilians need to own large cache of guns at home?
To start a gun revolution against the Government or to shoot anyone they come across that make them unhappy?
And the job of a President is not to attend memorial to mourn the death mow down by gun - and declare himself as the People President.
The job of a President is to enact law to ban gun - so that he does not have to attend memorial to mourn any death from gun shot. Only then he deserve to be the People President - who is carrying out his duty responsibly to protect his people's lives.

I think this says it perfectly. We are nowhere near the states, but as parents ourselves we feel for their loss.
