(1) Straits of Malacca are protected by navies of the various Sovereign States in their territorial water - and they are part of the ADMM+ navies who collaborate to safeguard the safety of commercial ships going past the Straits of Malacca.

(2) In the latest navies exercise involving the ADMM+ - ASEAN, China and even US, Russia, S Korea etc navies took part.

(3) Singapore provide the IFC (Information Fusion Centre) - to coordinate the multi-national ADMM+ navies exercise - where elite naval troop storm hijack ships, helicopter land on foregin naval ships etc.

(4) China 海豚 naval helicopter - also practise landing on our RSN stealth frigate.

(5) So our navy in collaborating with ADMM+ navies - are ready to face any challenges to commercial ships sailing through the Straits of Malacca --- and I believe China will be confident that commercial ships will be protected while sailing through the Straits of Malacca.

Ist it an excuse to send their Navy in? Next thing you know they'll claim it as their's. Can't help being skeptical.

that's why Raffles was here and what the SAF is truly for............S'pore is just a military base to control the Straits for ''Red Shield''............
