Singapore is very much like Japan where very senior people at top positions continue to hold their offices, younger workers have to wait for ages and have little chance to get promoted to these positions.
Some are v selfish, some committed to many condoms & mistresses, some get used to high lifestyles, some focus in getting rid of the close 2nd in line to stay up there...we see this every day...
Bruce Kky civil service should have a policy to routinely retire those above top position holder who are above 55. This is also a good measure to prevent corruption and create career mobility for the young. Not too long ago the DPM talked about career mobility and it looks like more could only move out or move down. This guy looks so old, I think he had worked way passed his retirement age.
