This is at least a glean of sunlight from the dark overcast of trade war.

US must work with China through talk and negotiation to settle the differences - and not threaten tariff and start a trade war through emotion rather than rational, logical thinking.

Else both US and China will suffer huge damages and loss (where businesses suffer loss business, survival are at stake and this are translated to job loss as well as high price for consumers).

It will also cause collateral damages to other Countries in the World along the global supply chain.

The villian who threatened China with trade war... now want to go to China for trade talks.

It reminds me of ...the British Colonial war monger (under the guise of East India Company who sold opium to China) ....went to China with canons and guns mounted on their war ship ..."for talks" (to negotiate China's surrender".)

Mnuchin missed a little historical fact... China under Xi, is no longer the sickman of Asia.

China do not want a trade war with the USA....but it cannot be treated like Japan, someone whom USA can dictate terms of surrender.

If the villlian Mnuchin is willing to talk peace seriously...willing to be reasonable..willing to talk like an adult...willing to talk business like a matured businessman.. he will be welcome.

His threat of a trade war will not bring China on its knees ...to the negotiating table...
Like Newton's law, it will get an equal and opposite reaction from China.

Acting like a juvinile to win oneupmanship...will not get him a ticket to a negotiating table in Beijing.
