The two accidents earlier this month - in Clementi and Bukit Timah - have prompted some calls for the Land Transport Authority to review the "discretionary" right turn at traffic junctions.
A petition on the matter has since drawn more than 15,000 signatures in four days.

Propose turn right junction traffic light remain "red" when opposite straight car is "green" with right of way
In light of 2 deadly car accidents where the "green light" turn right junction is allowed when opposite green light for "straight car" has right of way :--
(1) On 19 Apr 2018 in Clementi where an undergraduate girl in the taxi was killed and the rest of 5 injured by a speeding straight car.
(2) On 22 Apr 2018 in Bukit Timah area when a young 23 years old woman in a car was killed in a similar manner by a SMRT bus.
Will LTA consider making turn right junction "red light" until the opposite straight car turn from "green" to "red".
This will prevent the road mishaps that resulted in death or injuries as per the above 2 unfortunate accidents where 2 young promising lives were lost.
