Actually N Korea is wrong to put forth developing nuclear weapons as the only way to prevent war.
In fact, it may accelerate war.
N Korea should put forth de-nuclearisation or the willingness to de-nuclearised in exchange for a Peace Treaty and Trade/Business/Investment. This is the only way to prevent war and ensure Peace.
Attempt nuclearisation will face a higher risk of war to prevent N Korea from developing nuclear weapons.
The current tension speak for itself.

In fact, N Korea old Allies - China and Russia will not support a nuclear N Korea.
In fact, the World will not support a nuclear N Korea.
Thus, steadfast to maintain a nuclear N Korea --- will be more dangerous to N Korea - as compare to negotiate for a de-nuclearised in exchange for Peace Treaty and Trade/Business/Investment - is a Wiser decision.

Iran walk and choose the path of de-nuclearisation - and is handsomely rewarded.
N Korea is currently choosing an opposite path --- and is a dangerous path, a path that may even threaten its existence.
