In the General Election 2015, SDP is the party to call for a 50% cut in defense spendings.

Now with terrorism being so rampant - Indonesia terrorist shooting and bomb. Belgium shooting and bomb. Paris shooting and bomb.

Malaysia and Singapore - uncover and arrest so many potential terrorists.

What is SDP's position now?

Will SDP acknowledge that its propose policy of cutting defense spending by 50% is wrong?

SDP's proposal to cut $5.75 billion or about 40 per cent of Singapore's current defence budget in GE 2015.

So SDP can comment how to tackle the terrorism that is sprouting all over the place - when many Countries are increasing defense spendings to counter terrorism?

Superpowers US and France spend so much on defence but still kena terrorist attacks. You think defence spending will deter terrorist attacks? If ISIS decides to attack you, you think they look at whether you increase or maintain defence budget.

If the Army is not trained to defuse bombs, chemical weapons, to fight guerrilla style of attacks, to free hostages etc ---- you think you will not get attack?

You think got money to buy equipment to protect us?

You think got money to fund manpower and train them?

You think there will be no trimming of manpower to do defence? No manpower how to guard so many places? Then how to deter terrorists?

I am not saying with increase in budget for defense spending will have zero threat. (Which I hope it will be).

I am saying by cutting defense budget by half - the threat will increase exponentially.
